I think the reason is rather simple. Most high school and college age kids have Facebook, and they are the ones who hate FCPD the most.

One of our customers did not like our work. We told them they could exercise the refund clause of the contract.

That was not good enough. They threatened to defame us to our customer base if we did not do what they wanted.

This is extortion.

We went to the police. They said "go ahead and let them defame you, then sue them".

It seems they can't do "hard" cases, but traffic stops are not a problem.

The amount of money we had to pay to prevent the extortion has forced us into bankruptcy.

I think the age argument is something to consider. But then why is it that the age of people who appreciate the police are 50+? That's a really small populous compared to the people who hate them. If the police are so high caliber here, then why is it they can't appeal to people that aren't in wheelchairs?

Besides the difference between nine multiples is not enough to account for those who appreciate the police over a certain age without a Facebook. These numbers are staggeringly different.

I say the police have to reform, because this is just homage to how poorly they act and treat us, the people they were sworn to protect.

You're willing to turn the blind eye on anything the police do solely to protect their "good name". That was a textbook example of the police abusing their powers and neglecting their duties, and you immediately insult the victim.

Burn in hell you troglodyte.

So it was either extortion by the customer or extortion by the lawyers, huh? Police are useless, as usual.

I'm nowhere near that age, and I generally support them. I've even been wronged by a real asshole of an Officer before, so I know what it's like to go through such a situation. Still, I don't hate all cops. Part of the reason, is that I've learned throughout the years how their jobs are often dictated. For instance, when you have cops giving out tickets like candy on Halloween, it's often because they're pressured to do so by politicians, and subsequently their commanders. Quotas aren't supposed to exist, but they do, and some departments are FAR worse about it than others. I've even known officers who've been threatened with desk duty for not handing out enough tickets, and as you can imagine, that's the last place on Earth that a Patrol Officer wants to be (It's the equivalent of sending a bad student to detention).

One of my friend's joined the "Fuck the FCPD" page on FB, but I think he's ignorant for doing it. He says he hates the cops, but it's only because they keep pulling him over (This is despite the fact that he ALWAYS speeds, and he's done so multiple times with a suspended license no less). I'm the one on the other hand who's actually been mistreated, yet I don't share his sentiment.

Btw, I will call an Officer out when I think they've done something wrong. I have no problem with cracking down on those who dishonor the badge, and their sworn duties. However, we needn't go around crying wolf over every Cop, because then we'll never retain the ability to root out the actual bad ones.

Regardless of whether or not it is in Fairfax, it still happens. And there has been several accounts of police brutality here. For instance just a few weeks ago, an unarmed man was killed by the police. The police refuse to release any details about the account, or even the officer's name. We pay taxes that fund them, and yet we receive very little in return. It's a failure on their part to be secretive about public accounts. FCPD is actually renowned for it.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/30/AR2010043000909.html

I guarantee you that if you think the police go "hands on" here at most once a month, your ability to estimate is severely impaired. We are one of the safest counties in the nation, but we're not a utopia. Simply because I have a problem with the police here doesn't warrant me to leave this place. That's idiotic. On the other hand, if the majority of the populous were as dim witted and brash as yourself, then that's an entirely different situation which would likely result in me fleeing the county in fear that you would somehow radiate negative IQ and induce severe mental retardation in all the citizens of Fairfax. This is simply hypothetical.

Please explain to me just how a police department in another state, has any affects on one in Virginia? If continue down this path:
1) you unjustly place blame on the wrong police force (slander)
2) Trying to incite a riot
3) shows just how stupid and silly a person can be

Plus, please leave you address and real name, so when you get robbed, beaten-ed or been victimized in any way, the police department can tell you that since you have issues with them, you sure don't want their help.
Better yet put your address in here so I can come rob you, that way I know for sure the police will not be involved. What a dumb person all must be, please prove to me how stupid you all really, post your names and addresses so everyone will know which house to hit.

Jeez dude, you're really upset now aren't you? Level with me if you will. I never stated those acts were specifically conducted by Fairfax county police. It was a presentation that unjust acts are often committed by the people who are sworn to protect us. If you so desire an example from the police in this local district, take into consideration what recently happened to David Masters. A perfectly unjustifiable and avoidable murder with blood on the hands of someone in the police force here in Fairfax County. What's even more disturbing is the fact the FCPD is extremely unwilling and recalcitrant to reveal any information about the incident. Videotape and records are being withheld from the public. Here's two articles if you refuse to believe me,

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/01/27/AR2010012703907.html
http://reason.com/archives/2010/06/29/police-blackout

Also this is an anonymous thread for a reason. Because people such as yourself will actually become compelled to make brash and insouciant decisions. If by the slight off chance you feel that resolving stupidity warrants violence and robbery, then you really have presented the most self defeating argument on Fairfaxunderground.

Finally just so you know the police are not required to protect you. I recommend you give a thorough read of Warren v DC. I'll make it this much easier by presenting you the Wikipedia page,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_v._District_of_Columbia

From the article: "A 32-year-old Fairfax County man who was in psychiatric distress died early Friday after he was jolted with a Taser charge by an ARLINGTON COUNTY officer trying to subdue him inside an apartment where the man was visiting relatives, police said."

Yes, the man who was killed (in an accidental death) in the article was from Fairfax, but the officer was from Arlington. So, I can't really say that this is the FCPD's fault (actually, it's really no ones fault).

Using the same logic, do police in dc suck? Because those citizens aren't well protected. Hmmmm....maybe crime is naturally low because the majority of citizens in ff county are not drunken, unemployed fucktards. Thus, the police have lots of time to hide in the bushes and hand out traffic tickets

Sure the cops suck, but guess why? They have to put up with all the douche bags around here.

People know how the cops are , yet they still call them to settle domestic disputes, hassles over parking places, and other unnessecarry bullshit that individuals should work out for themselves.

People complain about the police, yet they do everything they can to initiate confrontation with the cops.

The cops are EASY to avoid. Behave and don't involve the police in your piddling bullshit.

When my house was robbed they said to buy a gun and leave them alone. I hate them, and wish they would be disbanded. I think there would be less serious crime and an more of an effort of solving the ones that occur if the Sheriffs were responsible for police duties again. I consider the police just one really fancy gang, taking money from people to buy fancy clothes, guns, and suping up crappy crown-vic cars.

The age disparity is really quite understandable. Cops around here are too busy spending time busting kid's parties and arresting kids smoking marijuana to be beating on the adult populace. They try to make the time, but really they're very, very busy. And remember, be sure to contact the Board of Supervisors and demand that they bring out the helicopter more for noise complaints.

The police department does not handle these types of cases, there is no CRIMINAL action here. This is something that you need to deal with in the court system.

Another example, think of child custody and visitation. The police department will only get involved in there is an argument, dispute, or domestic assualt. However, they will NOT take sides on who and who should not take the child. That's between the parents and what the court dictates and if anything, CPS will get involved.

Extortion, blackmail, etc is not for law enforcement.

The police have no recourse on civil actions. Anything involving a contract is "CIvil" and therefore, police are legally unable to follow through.

Most dirtbag libs are too stupid to understand the difference between criminal and civil cases. They take out their frustration on the police like tantrum-throwing three-year-olds.

I have lived in Fairfax County all my life (59 years).

I have never, not even once, talked to, or been talked to by a Fairfax County cop.

They are not particularly difficult to avoid.

You're not likely to have much contact with FCPD unless you're a lib douchebag.
