QBs Shanahan/Allen Didn't Draft
Posted by: Vinny C ()

Shanahan had a reputation for knowing QB talent when he saw it. Here is a list of QBs he passed on. Keep in mind, some of these were in the same draft he mortgaged the future in with RGIII.

Nick Foles
Russell Wilson
Ryan Tannehill
Andy Dalton
Colin Kaepernick

Why is it the coaches and GMs in those markets saw potential in these guys while Shanahan/Allen were horse trading for Rex Grossman, John Beck and RGIII?

Luck doesn't count because Indy was never going to trade down their pick.

Danny Boy loves RG3. He will be around long past his expiration date, just like Clinton Portis and Santana Moss were.

It's not just a single player it's the surrounding players, coaches and organization as a whole that create success. You don't know any of those guys listed above would be playing better in the situation in DC than RG III.

Whining about players on other teams is pointless.

Rex Grossman III and Robert Griffin III are both RG3's. They need to come up with a more precise nomenclature. Something like RG3a and RG3b

-another RG3

Theres truth to that, but all those guys can throw accurately which makes them have a better shot of putting up better numbers.

You are correct though the roster sucks from Shannys shitty drafting, which makes it even dumber to give up 2 extra first rounders for a QB. Everyone always acts like that draft will be the last draft to produce a good QB. Every draft might not be a repeat of 03, but almost all have some sort of quality QB in it.

This isn't complete without a list of the other offensive coordinators who could have been turning Griffith into a success.

Instead you got the coach trying to produce a career for his son. Well that failed didn't it?
