Fairfax car registration refund?

just got my car passed emission and re-registered for 2 years a few weeks ago, and then my car got totaled this week. Can I get a refund back on the county registration fee? TIA

From DMV website:

If your registration has a full six months or more remaining before it expires, you may qualify for a partial refund. Simply complete an Application for Vehicle Registration Refund form (form FMS-210) and return it to DMV. Refunds generally take 30 days to process."

thanks...now let's see how much they give back considering I used up only 2 weeks of those 2 years renewal.

The state will give you appoximately 75%. The county will give you nothing.

Can you just transfer it to your new car? Unless you're not getting another one....
