GOP Candidates Impress at NoVA Minority Chambers of Commerce Forum

~ Terry McAuliffe Says Little, Other Democrats No-Show ~

FAIRFAX - Republican Candidate for Governor Ken Cuccinelli, along with Lieutenant Governor Candidate EW Jackson and Attorney General Candidate Mark Obenshain, made another of their frequent visits to Fairfax County on Sunday. Democrat Terry McAuliffe appeared, but the other two members of the Democratic ticket decided not to attend.

"It was great to have Ken Cuccinelli, EW Jackson, and Mark Obenshain up on the podium together at the recent Northern Virginia Minority Chambers of Commerce Forum," said Jay McConville, Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee. "This was a historic collaboration between the many diverse Chambers of Commerce in our community, and our candidates made it a priority to support the event. Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli's talk focused on the work he has already done serving the people of Fairfax and Virginia, and his plans to increase economic opportunity, educational success, and access to affordable energy for all people in the Commonwealth. Once again he offered plain-spoken details about his plans and how he will address the important issues of the day."

Each of the two Governor candidates had 15 minutes to present their platforms to this multi-cultural gathering of business professionals. Ample time was provided for all candidates to meet one-on-one with attendees to discuss the issues and solutions important to businesses and families across the Commonwealth. McConville continued, "It is a shame that neither the Democrat Lieutenant Governor nor Democrat Attorney General candidates made it a priority to be present for the event in time to meet with the people."

Democrat fundraiser-turned-Governor candidate Terry McAuliffe offered little detail in his speech, making some vague promises for which he offered no plan to pay for or achieve. He did opt to go negative against the sitting Attorney General, continuing his strategy to attack and divide the people of Virginia.

"Once again we got a speech full of pixie-dust and platitudes from big-DC fundraiser Terry McAuliffe," said the Fairfax GOP Chairman. "Like his dubious business ventures, Mr. McAuliffe seems to think that if you say it, it becomes real. Unfortunately for his business associates and the employees of his failed ventures like Global Crossing, GreenTech Automotive and his fictional pellet business, his plans often lead to financial ruin. The people of Virginia don't need a Governor who makes a lot of promises the taxpayer has to pay for, while having no plan to make any of it work. Business leaders know about paying the bills, obviously Terry McAuliffe does not."
""The people of Virginia deserve leaders who know what they are doing. We have three great candidates in Ken Cuccinelli, EW Jackson, and Mark Obenshain. I am confident the people will make the right choice on November 5th and put these three fine gentlemen into office" concluded McConville.
