McAuliffe profited from yet another fraud company
Posted by: Terry McAuliffe Busted Again ()

Is there anyone sleazier than Terry McAuliffe? AP is reporting that Terry McAuliffe was an investor with a Rhode Island estate planner who allegedly profited from death benefits paid on policies issued on terminally ill people without their knowledge.

No one who knows Terry would be surprised by this. Why would any sane person vote for this dirtbag?

Yeah, this one is bad.

Even if he didn't know about the fraud, he still profited from it.

CRANSTON, R.I. -
Terence McAuliffe, the former chairman of the national Democratic Party and current Virginia gubernatorial candidate, was one of hundreds of people who invested in variable annuities that used terminally ill patients as the annuitants.

McAuliffe and others became owners of the investment instruments through Cranston estate planner Joseph Caramadre. Caramadre pleaded guilty to stealing the identities of terminally ill patients and using that information to falsely apply for annuities and bonds with death puts.

Prosecutors said Caramadre cost insurance companies between $37 million and $48 million from the scheme.

Caramadre, with the help of a partner, would use personal information from terminally ill patients on investment applications that contained death benefits. The actual owners of the annuity would be Caramadre or hundreds of investors. In exchange for the personal information, Caramadre often times would help the families of the terminally ill to pay for funeral expenses.

Besides McAuliffe, Robert Flanders, a former justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court, is on the investment list. Gaythorne "Poochie" Angell, a long-time bookie and mob associate[LOL], was also an investor, along with Monsignor Raymond Bastia, who handles financial planning for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence.

There is no evidence that the investors knew that Caramadre was stealing the identities of the terminally ill patients.

"The investment was for a retirement fund for my prior law firm, and I absolutely did not know Caramadre was stealing the identity of terminally ill patients," Flanders told the I-Team.

Caramadre's use of unrelated owners of the annuities was legal.

Caramadre and his partner have pleaded guilty to the investment scheme. Prosecutors said Caramadre made millions.

Caramadre is being held at the Wyatt Detention Center and has yet to be sentenced.

McCauliffe was "one of hundreds of people who invested".

"There is no evidence that the investors knew that Caramadre was stealing the identities of the terminally ill patients."

What part of that do you not get? By your logic, people who were scammed by Bernie Madoff were guilty of fraud. Try harder.

Why, isn't that how Mitt Romney made his fortune? Investing, insider trading, and the like. And what, pray tell, would you consider "doing ANYTHING on HIS OWN!"? Breaking rocks in the hot sun?

I would expect a conservative such as yourself to know something about Capitalism, a system you surely profess as true belief. To paraphrase a common adage, "one doesn't get rich off of one's own money, one gets rich off of other people's money".

Mr. McAuliffe is worth millions. Mr. Cucinelli had to borrow the 18 grand repayment of the bribe he took, then "donated" it to charity (can you say "write off"?). Shouldn't the choice be obvious, even to an acolyte of Ann Rand?

True, but the story is about him lying to a postal inspector investigating the scam. Lying is usually not a good sign for any potential politician, including the Cooch. Put the partisan politics aside and who becomes the fools, we do.

So he made his millions when he was Governor? I guess you believe he didnt build the company he started too?

But thats a moot point. You were against Romney though so since you think its the same I assume that your against Tmac as well and wont be voting for him correct?

Given that politicians don't come any dirtier than Terry, how could anyone with a brain vote for this scum? Have all the moronic, Marion Barry voters moved to infest Virginia?

Like his gay lover Obama, Terry has never held a real job in his life. That's why he has no respect for honest and hardworking Americans. Dem politicians are all about taking everything and giving nothing.

Where's the story? Businessman seeks profit. Businessman makes profit. No story there. Nothing here to read. Move on, people.

Meanwhile, the Cooch is firing up his transvaginoider....he wants another peek under the sheets. Missionary position is the only legal way. Doggie style will get you arrested in the Old Dominion under the Cooch administration.

People get old.
Old people buy insurance policies.
Old people pay.
Insurance policy pays off.

No story here.

Cooch will point the transvaginator at your butt if you keep it up.

McAuliffe's not even defending the scam knucklehead. He even made an off-setting contribution to charity to 'cleanse' himself of any of the profit made.

Buying structured settlements may not get you into heaven -- at least not the beneficiary excepting the insured, but if put together smartly can provide a handsome payout.

Same with tax lien foreclosures.

Same with hyrdofracking.

Same with trading carbon credits.

Nobody ever said capitalism is for the pure of heart. But business is the American Way. Terry is an American hero. Cooch is a hooknosed hater.
