Conversation: These Revitalization Appear to mean additional greenspace loss with more expensive housing and retail space for the upper middle class and wealthy.
I do not understand how this urbanization life style where unaffordable housing for the poor and proliferating shopping space can be sustainable life style defined as "revitalization" with little or no greenspace as I can see.
And no place for for poor people to live where minimum wage retail jobs must be the only sustainance envisioned in this "revitalization" as best I can understand from the beautiful rendering given in these artistic drawings in this newsletter.
Am I the only poor person able to complain ?
According to these DOL numbers, many people who were middle class most of their lives are now among the poorest of the poor as in Fairfax County, VA . No, middle class is not expanding.
This expanded poor class, ie, those with median income 30% below the median and those who cannot afford to shop at these millions of sq ft of retail space, and live at these expensive housing that are being built must be driven out by this unsustaintable revitalization plan ?
Occupy Wall Street now forgotten so quickly ?
(Oh, one easily ignored fact about Fairfax, VA. This county has the largest number of poor people in the State of Virginia, as recently published numbers, with a 10 year update of all 50 States and each county and city within such states).
