One of the ramps to Rt. 50 was closed, and there were 2 fire engines & about 6 police cars at the bottom. They seemed to be looking into the wooded area inside of the ramp. Some tape was strung up, but I couldn't read it from where I was.

Units responded to an outside fire and while extinguishing the fire, they came across a body. No other details are avaialble.

I had to drive back and forth a couple of times during the day. Seems like more and more police vehicles were there later in the afternoon than when I saw them at 12:30, by 2:00 triple the amount of police. Obviously it was something big due to the amount of cars, vans and trucks and yellow tape.

A local contractor has been hiring illegal day laborers and murdering them at the end of their shift to avoid paying them. FCPD received a tip that the bodies were hidden in the brush by Rt 50 and FFX Pkwy.

That's a shame when the mother could of just dropped the baby at the nearest fire station.
Mothers who are in this type of desperation are protected by Virginia's safe haven law.
A mother can drop off a baby up to 14 days old at any hospital or fire department. In DC, a mother can drop off a baby who's up to 7 days old. In Maryland, a baby can be up to 10 days old.

While fighting the fire, firefighters discovered the body of an unidentified adult male.

First I thought someone was murdered and then set on fire after hearing it was a fire first...but who is going to set a body on fire at noon on a Sunday off a busy ramp? My husband is thinking maybe it was a homeless man who was cooking or something and had a heart attack or something and the fire spread. Far fetched? Maybe BUT starting a fire to hide a dead body on a busy ramp at noon doesn't make sense at all. What else cold have happened?

I have noticed homeless people in that area many times and have seen a campsite in the wooded depression inside the on-ramp for 66W at Rt 50. They often walk on 50 east into Fairfax, sometimes on bicycles.

bP6PE - it's the truth. He was one of my friends, and he committed suicide. Cc is not "talking through their ass". I wish some people would just have some compassion and realize how difficult this is for family and friends. Especially, since to some, it seemed like he was fine and there was no problem. All of us have been in shock for a couple days. I know that I'm on auto-pilot and still cannot believe it.

It is possible it was a suicide but will believe it when it is on the news of what happened. people generally don't kill themselves by lighting themselves on fire. It said the body was found close by the fire. Didn't say it was in the fire. Most people kill themselves by shooting themselves or taking pills or slitting wrists... not too sure how amny light themselves on fire...what a horrible was to die. I hope it is not the case. Either way a mans dead body was found and that is sad to his family and friends no matter who he was and why he is dead now. Who ever said people die everyday, get over it...you are right people do die every day but I am sure when it is someone you love...you would not be shrugging it off as if it was no big deal. Death is hard on those left behind who loved that person.

He had a long rap sheet, lots of theft, and most recently violation of a Juvy Court Order. Sad for his family, sad for him - the FB memorial full of people talking about what a good person he was.
