Two young men were attending a movie at the Fairfax Corner theater today. Unfortunately, one of the young men chose to speak to the other during the showing of the film. This resulted in another patron, described as "late forties, gray hair, sitting in the front row" threatening these young men with bodily harm: he was quoted as saying " Talk again and I'll hurt you."

Edit: Slept on it. Y'all are right. I overreacted. And I did correct the issue with the two guys. It just bothers me that the guy handled it the way he did, but then again, maybe I didn't get the whole story.

simple assault is an act which makes the victim think they are in danger. i.e. throwing a rock but purposefully missing the victim

intimidation is using words to make the victim feel as if they are in danger. i.e. "i'm going to throw this rock at you"

while intimidation is not a crime, threats are; however, for the threat to be a criminal act it must have been written physically or electronically.
