The OP is heartless bitch. If you can't take care of the dog and you need to give it away, you give it (for free) to a friend, neighbor, relative or coworker who wants it, i.e. someone you could trust. Failing that you can place an ad wherever but you don't ask for money. That would be tasteless, and makes other think you don't really give a shit about your dog. If you really love your dog and you wanna find a good home for it, then you'll follow my advice.

The sales price is to prevent the ginormous crushing horde of people who would contact her if the owner just said something like "free to good home". A person who wants this dog has to put a little skin in the game, unless you're rich enough that $100 is a throwaway to you, which is doubtful for this crowd.

That being said, Fairfax Underground is probably the absolute worst place in the entire county to advertise a pet for sale, as evidenced by the comments in this thread.

Really? The dog could less about feelings. All a dog knows is where can I get food. They are simply protecting their food source.

You can take any dog and feed him to do anything.

This is def. not a good place to find a good home for a pet.

Give your dog to someone you know personally or to a good friend of someone you know well.

Failing that, see if you can find a rescue group who'll take your dog. Failing that, find a "no-kill" shelter. Most aren't. A "no-kill" shelter will usually have rescue groups and fosters who'll keep your dog alive and healthy long enough to find her a new "forever" home. Some of them will even train and socialize her while they're at it, in case she isn't already.

If you sell your dog online, there's a good chance she'll end up as dogfight bait or as a lab experiment. Not kidding. Not fair to your dog.

I sure hope you have a darned good reason for looking for a new home for your dog.
