The suggestion for looking on meetup.com was probably one of the best. I don't drink either, and my take is that drunk women tend to be annoying and often boring anyway. As far as what you mentioned in terms of how you're perceived, you might want to take a look at some of the dating coach stuff out there. Not drinking is not your problem - you are boring or scared or something. When I bartended after college I never drank because I felt it was a real hazard of the profession (almost all prof. service peps are alcholoics). I got laid more than ever during that period. I was sober and having fun. I was competing with drunk dudes - not very attractive and talking to drunks is actually somewhat boring if you are sober.

So go out, drink ginger ale or club soda and enjoy yourself. You will be surprised how women will appreciate a man that isnt acting like an idiot because of booze. As a bonus the drunk bitches are the ones you want to avoid anyway. Not much of a future for drunks in general really. If you have any charm at all you will get laid plenty.

If you are not charming you probably wont do well at bars or parties - shoot for classes, groups, meetups where the shy people congregate. I didnt mix much with these groups because I like people but Im guessing it will be harder to get laid among shy socially awkard folk (hence the reason most people drink when socializing).

Good luck and remember the most important thing to do is go out and simply ask women directly if they would let you call them. You would be surprised how many will say yes! Its a numbers game :)
