More succinctly; the search for Monique Wells + Fairfax has been performed SO many times that Google now auto-populates it after "Monique Wel" which is NOT an uncommon name by any means.

Monique, I can say with virtual certainty that the above screenshots are indicative of just how many people who sort of know you/may remember you from high school and heard that "that Monique Wells girl" is all over "that Fairfax something site" making an idiot out of herself and did a Google search on you out of curiosity to see what everybody is laughing about. That's how you're known now. Google doesn't lie. Congratulations.

She could plead guilty, if it's offered, to regular misdemeanor assault instead of the felony assault on a police officer that has been charged with. If she is offered the misdemeanor deal and takes it, then she will in fact be sentenced the day of her preliminary hearing.

The deal would be misdemeanor assault with not less than 6 months in the ADC (and probably 12 months), because she's going to do at least 6 months in the clink regardless.

I don't know if the Commonwealth's Attorney is feeling generous enough to offer this deal, and I doubt lizzie would recognize it as the generous gift it would be, anyway.

If she had a shitload of money or family connections, she might be able to get probation, but she's got neither, so it's heigh-ho, heigh-ho, off to the can she goes.

The straight and simple, no-bullshit truth is that she punched a cop, and they're going to put her in time-out for it. It's just a question of how long.

As I speculated earlier, if she insists on going to trial, the Commonwealth's Attorney is going to ask her to pay full freight, which is 1 to 5 in big girl prison.

There are two possible reasons why Lizzie's husband isn't paying for her defense. One is that she isn't really married and that was just another of her lies, and the other is that she stupidly married someone who's just as broke as she is, violating the cardinal rule of "never marry a broke-ass man".

She's not going to trial on Monday. It's a preliminary hearing. The Commonwealth's Attorney may offer her a plea bargain before she goes before the judge, and if she takes it and pleads guilty, they will probably take her into custody immediately pending sentencing (this is not assured, however, she may remain free on bond until she is sentenced, which will be in a couple of months).

I think her next step is arraignment before the Circuit Court, which will occur if the District Court judge finds that a felony was committed when she punched the cop and there's probable cause that lizzie did it. After that comes her trial, which will also be in Circuit Court. If the Commonwealth's Attorney doesn't offer her a plea on Monday, he surely will by the time she's arraigned in the Circuit Court.

Unfortunately, unless someone's willing to pay for access to CPAN or go to the courthouse and access it there, her hearing on Monday is the last we'll hear of this, because Circuit Court records aren't available freely online.

Testimony from her county appointed social worker is all they'd need.

wrong. um judge can we get a free pass because the court appointed social worker and they say she has a learning disability, low IQ and developmental disorder. Get you head out of your ass. Have to have the above problems to even get yourself in that kind of trouble.

Fairfax county does not have court appointed social workers for adults. They are only provided in J&D relations court.

I think you may be a little incorrect on some minor points...

1) Yes this is her preliminary hearing, but if she takes a deal and pleads guilty to a misdemeanor, then she will be sentenced at that moment. Being sentenced does not necessarily mean she will be taken into custody right then and there. Due to Fairfax County Jail's population situation she may be scheduled to turn herself in at a later date or serve her time on weekends. She may even get some kind of probation or differed disposition, who knows what the punishment will be.

2)She can only plead guilty to a misdemeanor, if it is offered, in General District Court. District Court does not adjudicate felonies.

3) If the case continues as a felony then the next step would be a grand jury in Circuit Court.

People like her do not get sent to the special section of W.T. Woodson for no reason. What is most interesting about it is that in their center, the students have a wide range of intellectual abilities. Some are learning disabled, some are average and some are very intelligent. The common thread is that they are violent and have to stay separated almost all of the time. Sometimes they let them out of the center to take a regular class, join a club or work in the attendance office, but it often ends badly. My guess is that lizzie is on the lower end of average. Or maybe her IQ really is 61!

Lawyers aren't that bad! I'm just related to a couple fine attorneys.. It's the number one profession in our area.

I could see how ambulance chasers and such give lawyers a bad rap, but every group has a couple of bad apples.

BTW, did anyone actually go to the hearing today? What happened?

Having a felony dropped and spending 2 weeks in jail and being spared 6 months to a year in jail is winning no matter how you look at it. Anything is better than being a felon.

You don't necessarily always go to jail right away (unless it is a murder charge). When deals are made, criminals like you, are sometimes allowed to surrender at a later date (in order to get their affairs in order).
