Register Voter you must be use to working in Burger King. Major company officials or company employees are never "fired." It is proper to say "The employee had a difference of opinion etc..."
A President never says he fired someone. That's a political protocol.
Obama answered this question in the press conference. If you watched his mannerism it was pretty clear that she was fired, he just didn't want to say it.
The reporter then said "She was fired" in a stern voice. Obama smiled and didn't say anything but his actions indicated that was the case.
