I have to drive to Portland Oregon and back. What car should I rent?

I want something not too small like a Focus or Corolla but not too big like a Suburban. It needs to be comfortable for a man who is 60 pounds overweight. I am not paying for the gas or any expenses on the trip. Please help me decide, thanks.

He probably wants to actually make it across the country without breaking down so no a GM product is not a good choice. I would say a VW jetta would be best.

Whatever you do, don't pick an econobox. The little money that you save on gas will not make your back feel better. If I spend more than a couple of hours in a Civic or Accent, I ache all over.

You obviously don’t read Consumer Reports. Impala has been their top pick in the full size sedan category. With a good reliability rating. Most VW’s have poor reliability ratings.

Yeah get an SUV that gets good gas mileage, like a Mazda CX-5 or Honda CR-V. They’re bigger, more comfortable vehicles. and even if fuel costs aren’t a big factor in your trip, it’s worth not having to stop just for gas as often. Being able to drive 400+ miles on a single tank is nice on real long trips. You can do that in an F150 but unless you have a camper shell on it all your luggage might not be safe from thieves.

You are mistaken young man. Blacks drive Chrysler 300’s, Nissan Altima’s and
Old Ford Crown Vic’s.
Being you're asking for a rental recommendation, I'd say the Chrysler 300. I wouldn't own one, but as a rental, it's a good car. Alpine audio system, 7 speed transmission, etc. Just use the cruise control so you don't get a ticket.

VW? Ahahahaha! Those cars are the most unreliable and biggest pieces of shits on the road! Electrical problems galore. My boss had one and he was sorry he ever bought it. Chevrolets are ranked WAY above VW in reliability. Nice try tho.

I like that idea. No way I would ever buy a Chrysler either. But renting one for a couple weeks might be fun. I am going to test drive one at a dealership maybe they will even rent me one. Thanks!

Borrow a ford fusion

There is a ford fusion you might be able to use cheaply. Neither registered owner can drive. The best part is they have an amazing insurance policy that anyone else can use the car as long as they want and they are covered. This has been notarized so we know it is legally valid.

Good advice - regarding flying during this time of year. Driving through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, the Dakotas, Montana, etc. during this time of year could be a horrendous trip due to snowstorms.

If you do borrow that car get a few cans of Febreeze...and expect to be shampooing with "RID" for the duration of the trip.

A Subaru is the car of choice for the pacific northwest.
When you get to Multnomah County..
Grab yourself a case of Dead Guy Ale, drive up into the mountains in the snow and you too can see big foot!!!!
