Right, moron, your lies aren't going to change the facts. I wonder if anybody's dumb enough to pay $50 to park a car.

I think spots in Garages B & C are $48 on a day of game basis. We actually pay quite a bit less than that per game for a half season’s worth of reservations. Gave those to a pair of our ballpark pals for tonight, so the game may have been rained out, but at least the parking didn’t ding them.

And yet you begged me to tell you the name of the freeway above it. After scrounging and struggling through Google street-view for a couple of days, you finally stumbled upon it yourself. Pathetic. Now, if only you could scrounge and struggle through street-view to find townhouses "painted in a questionable array of colors" in Great Forest. I'll save you the heartbreak. No amount of scrounging and struggling can help you find what doesn't exist.

Thanks Willie. Better story than the guy who lies and the one who calls out his lies.

Two gentlemen, William Dunn and Carl A. Wiehle purchased approximately 6,500 acres in the northern part of Fairfax County, along the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Railroad line in the year 1886. Later on, they divided the land between themselves, with Carl retaining the acreage that was on the north of the railroad line. He dreamt of founding a town on his property, including amenities such as hotel, parks, as well as a community center. Unfortunately, he completed only a handful of homes before his demise in 1901.

Carl’s heirs finally sold the land, which then changed hands severally before being purchased by the A. Smith Bowman family, who built a bourbon distillery on the site. By year 1947, the Bowman’s had managed to successfully acquire the former Dunn tract south of the railroad, for total holdings of over 7,000 acres. In 1961, Robert E. Simon used funds from his family’s recent sale of Carnegie Hall to purchase a huge chunk the land, except for some 60 acres or so on which the Bowman distillery continued to operate until 1987.

On April 10, 1964 on his 50th birthday, Simon officially launched Reston and named the community using his initials. He laid out 7 “guiding principles” that would express the quality of life he desired for the residents and also serve as a strong foundation for Reston’s future development. His dream was for Restonians to live, work, and even play in their own community, sharing common grounds, scenic beauty and serenity, all shared equally regardless of social status, therefore establishing a stronger sense of community ties.

Simon envisioned Reston, Virginia as a model for huddled residential development, also known as a conservation development, putting a premium on preservation of open space, landscapes, and wildlife habitats. Indeed, Reston was the first 20th-century private community in the U.S. to explicitly incorporate natural preservation in its planning. To date, Reston has remained as a unified, balanced and cohesive whole, being home to beautiful landscapes, recreational facilities, commercial hubs, cultural centers as well as historical sites. It is a city that continues to live in its founding fathers’ visions, prospering as a community that values togetherness above all.

It's your ability to tell the truth that has not improved. There is no financial advantage to put your house into hock just to take a mundane trip to FL. It's why you've never been able to state one. It is merely and indication of low cash flow as a result of an existence funded by a fixed income.

Well, the woeful Whiffie situation becomes only worse and worse, as stupid begets only more stupid among this bamboozled bunch. Despite these continuing rains (and we've already had two and a half inches), we out here in the oh so superior Sweet Spot remain financially high and dry owing to long educational experiences and high-level professional careers in the fields of economics and finance. Unlike these many babbling but entirely bamboozled others, we actually know how to balance a checkbook and when to use cash versus credit. Dudes can't qualify for anything better than basement grade credit tools though, so they've no idea even of what they are missing. Dopes. Today's forecast is meanwhile not very promising: showers and 66 degrees all day, then showers and 64 degrees all night. The trip out to retrieve the morning paper was damp or maybe even wet. No wildlife, no walkers, just a whole lot of water.

Real President Joe has meanwhile been encountering a whole lot of welcome on his European visit. Recent polls there show him with a 75% favorable rating as opposed to 17% for the former Fat Boy. That sentiment seems to apply among G7 leaders as well as populations. RPJ isn't quite the instant rock star that Obama was in 2009 on the heels of the widely despised Bush-43, but it's still a sea change sort of thing that's going on over there.

In other news, rains washed out last night's scheduled game between the Nats and Giants. The two clubs will try to kick off a four-game series tonight instead. There will still be moisture to deal with, but there is at least a chance of getting a game in. Same pitchers are listed fr for tonight as last night, so DeSclafani against Scherzer. Conditions could make it challenging for both of them.

Always an extreme challenge of course is trying to live any sort of life in that awful abyss of Falls Church City. The local Chamber of Commerce is crying out for help now to the Fairfax County Planning Commission hoping to get amendments to allow mixed-use development on the WMATA WFC station site. Numbers for nearby mixed-use projects have plummeted of late though, so the wisdom of such a move is highly debatable. Not debatable is the notion of actually living in FCC -- that's been a really bad idea for decades.

Yes, it is.

Sure. Just none of the nondeductible personal expenses (or other non-qualified expenses).

And the share is reduced to the extent that you put such expenses on your HELOC.

You have no skills in either. You're just a blowhard and running your mouth is what causes you to be beaten so badly here every day.

But here's your big chance to prove me wrong.

Show the tax benefit of including nondeductible personal expenses under a HELOC. You said that it was simple "8th grade math." Show it. Find an objective reference that does so if you can't yourself.

As always, you won't.

Because you're wrong and you can't.

False. You have not. Never. Nothing. Just your usual bullshit where you claim to have provided something when you haven't. Cite the post. You can't.

Keep in mind that records are required to document deductible HELOC interest (as they are for any others) and that cheating on your taxes doesn't count.

It won’t do any good, of course. Even though I do it every year, the dopes will still insist that it can’t be done. The number of The Principals in The Bahamas should be back to zero at some point today by the way. We’ll have a chance to learn trip details in the near term. Maybe we can get together for lunch or something.

FPA is the new Kill Shot. Patently obvious sock puppet who is just as ignorant and out of the loop as his butthurt, low-brow, and grossly over-matched string-puller. By the way, that was 72.6% of our equity line interest payments in 2020 that ended up being deductible. Had been 81.0% in 2019. Sounds like an advantage to me.

Had you not put nondeductible expenses on your HELOC it could have been 100% in both years.

Simple 8th grade math.

Too simple. As wealthy and well-educated retirees, we use the equity line for virtually everything. The point then is to be able to deduct as much of any interest payments as possible. Some understand how to do that, some don’t.

Re: Dollar Tree on Maple Avenue in Vienna is now open!

Well, there is not much real hope for these little Whiffie children. Just a bunch of toddlers at a poorly supervised play group. Meanwhile, we wealthy retirees out here in the beautiful Sweet Spot won't need to deal with a 1040 again until October when our automatic extension of time to file will run out. We'll have charged a lot of stuff to the equity line by then. It's how we pay for just about everything. No $15K per week trips to Spring Training lately though. Maybe next year. Meanwhile, the rains are gone, but it's still not a bright, bright sunshiny day. It was 63 degrees outside when I first got up with cloudy skies, not much breeze, and even less chance of any rain. We did have about a quarter-inch come down over the past 24 hours or so, but we should be dry now for the rest of the day. The cool temps were what was most niceable on the trip down and back to grab the morning paper. Highs today should be in just the mid 70s.

Polls are meanwhile showing that about a third of GOP idiots are dumb enough to believe that the Ding Dong will somehow be 'reinstated' as President come August. Might as well believe that Falls Church City will suddenly be declared winner of the Water Wars. It's hard to fathom dumbness at such levels. Meanwhile, Real President Joe is leaning on G7 leaders to toughen their lines against China and its abusive labor practices. Lord knows our own labor practices are often shameful, but China's are far, far worse, the problem being that commercial ties between the G7 and the PRC are deep and important. A little bad publicity can't hurt though.

In other news, Max Scherzer faced just one batter against SF last night before a groin strain forced him to the bench. Calling it just 'a tweak', he was pretty sure that he could be ready for his next start. Paolo Espino took over on the hill with 26 outs to go and got 10 of them with 5 K's. He did give up a run though, and with the Nats offense consisting of two hits in nine innings, that was enough to clinch a 1-0 victory for Anthony DeSclafani, who threw a CG shutout. At 25-34, the Nats just are not very good. Twinbill on tap against the Giants today. Kevin Gausman and TBD will throw for them, while we being back Erick Fedde and hold out hope for Joe Ross.

There's no hope of course for the stupes and stooges of stumbling Falls Church City. No incumbent school board member will for instance be on the November ballot to fill four of seven positions. Fresh blood can be a good thing of couse, but a mass exodus rarely is.

Of which only expenses associated with the roof are deductible (subject to limits and other qualifications).

The rest is not and there is ZERO tax benefit from putting any of that on a HELOC.

There is ZERO tax benefit from putting nondeductible personal expenses on a HELOC.

Well, it's another bit of a cloudy morning out here in the Sweet Spot where those of us who know how to make the most of doing our own taxes enjoy being able in full compliance with the law to deduct quite significant portions of the interest paid on the large home equity lines that we are able to qualify for and use to beneficial ends. Good for us. Also good for us of course will be the clearing expected later on today as we move up from an early morning reading of 64 degrees. Looks like we should hit highs in the low 80s before once again facing chances for some late afternoon and early evening showers. Once they get started, those could persist into the wee hours of Monday. Something to watch out for, but not something that should upset plansd for Sunday. The wife and one of The Principals have such plans for later on, but they'll be on their own with those. I plan simply to enjoy some neeed rest on the Lord's Day by laughing at the bobbles and bungles of those who are tortured daily by thoughts of what 'artisinal goodies' might be and just where in SWDC it is that we are able to obtain them. Such info is of course not material in the slightest to the latest state of Washington Avenue, views of which our pursuit of such purchases regularly make possible.

Real President Joe and other G7 leaders are meanwhile putting their heads together in looking at the best means to call out and admonish China for its various evil deeds. Less visible but perhaops even more important are efforts to sharpen and refine norms for behavior in cyberspace. This work is ongoing at the uN and may very well be brought up in pending Biden-Putin conversations.

In other news, Erick Fedde did a nice job in his return from the COVID DL , hurling five shutout innings in what ended as a 2-0 win over the Giants in the first half of a split double-header. In the nightcap, neither side was able to score in regulation, but each did in extras, as SF secured a split on the day with a 2-1 win. Call-up Jefry Rodriguez was the surprise starter for the Nats, and he acquitted himself well over four one-hit innings. Bullpen game for the Giants, but we couldn't land a punch against any of the seven guys they sent to the mound, further extending what has become a rather remarkable string of just plain dull and boring baseball. Bozo Bobby must be so proud of what he has created.

Nobody of course is proud of anything related to dull and boring Falls Church City. No real shopping opportunities. No real dining opportunities. Not even a legit chicken place. FCNP wants everyone to know that tasty cow's tongue is available at Luzmary, but that's not actually within the City limits at all. Many were of course not at all aware of it and had to be told that it had opened back in 2015.

Interest PAID is not taxed in either case.

Interest on nondeductible personal expenses has no tax benefit in a HELOC.
