It'll be a slow course that will be followed now, but the start is what's important in real-time. RPJ is also at work with his Euro counterparts in dismantling parts of the unwise tariff structure put in place by his knee-jerk predecessor. That will be relatively slow work as well, as you always want to minimize dislocations.

In other news, Jon Lester wasn't awful, and though the bullpen blew the save, they tossed 3.2 innings of one-hit, scoreless ball, paving the way to a 3-2 win over PIT with the winning blow again being a Kyle Schwarber homer. The same teams will play again this evening. Patrick Corbin will tyry to take tyhe next step in righting his 2021 ship, while The Bucs will turn to lefty Tyler Anderson, who isn;t much good against most teams. He was pretty good against the Dodgers lat time out though, so we might be in trouble.

Looks like Dimwit is the loser AGAIN!

Well, each further fail of the dead and decaying Whiffies is worse than the last, as they have nothing new or relevant to say about anything at all. Circles have of course been run around these loser-clods at every turn, and will be again this afternoon as the wife and I return to our deluxe Club Level seats and reserved proper parking at Nats Park. Three games we ended up dispensing with (as in exchanged or gave away to ballpark pals) in light of cute little kitten illness, but our boy is pretty much back on the beam now, so it's back to baseball for us. We can of course afford to have our regular cat-sitter lady stop in around mid-game to be sure he and the others are doing well. Always better to be safe than sorry.

Meanwhile, it was a lovely 63 degrees outside when I got up, with gorgeous bright blue skies, modest breezes, and pretty much no chance of rain at all. Highs today should be in the mid to upper 70s, and with the humidity back down to very pleasant levels, it should indeed be just a beautiful day for baseball.

Real President Joe will no doubt have a fun time today as well, as he sits down to be entertained by as much of an inveterate liar as I do. Not much real progress can be expected to come from this little chit-chat, but it will be pleasant enough not to see ass-kissing betrayals of the nation and to see instead some actual groundwork being laid for future progress in areas where we have common interests.

In other news, Yan Gomes found a first inning pitch to his liking last night and swatted it for a grand slam homer. Thus staked to a 5-run lead, Patrick Corbin was able to settle in and pitch into the ninth before tiring and leaving on the long end of an 8-1 Nats win. 3-hit day for Jordy Mercer and 4-hit day for Trea Turner, so pretty much a happy clubhouse after the game. Hopefully, the same will prevail after Paolo Espino takes the place of Max Scherzer today going up against the Bucs' somewhat iffy Chase De Jong. One of them is likely to step up, and hopefully it will be our guy.

Not at all a place where anyone will actually step up of course is the dreary dump of Falls Church City. Blabbering Little City boosters have recently sought to put lipstick on their pet pig by suggesting that words such as educated, wealthy, and fit come to people's minds when thinking about residents of FCC. Widely known reality of course tells us that these envious laggards tend far more to the dumbfuck, broke ass, and shut-in ends of the scale. Also of course to the extreme negative end of the local chicken place availability scale. Sad.
