How about censoring in-person speech? Look at or speak slightly off to a tranny freak and students can be expelled now.

Yes, sadly you are right. I will do a poll about that soon as well. However, because of media sensationalism about "cyberbullying" and the like, there is more public support for censorship of online speech. Thus, I am taking on online censorship before I take on censorship of in-person speech because online censorship is more common because the law regarding in-person speech is much clearer due to Supreme Court cases such as Tinker v. Des Moines School District.

Exactly. It must suck for OP to go through life with fear as his dominant emotion.

The schools have no business monitoring/policing the private online social media accounts of their students. Kids are allowed to have their own personal lives.

If the schools wish to teach respectful online discussion then the schools can do this through school social media.

The people running FCPS-such as Dr. Garza and Ryan McElveen are very ambitious. They do not want their behavior exposed. Robert Heinlein said "secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny" and he was right.

Silencing the students is just part of a larger campaign. Another part can be found in the secret meetings of the school board, usually held at an offsite location, closed to the public.

Finally, of course, is the utter lack of transparency regarding FCPS contracting. You can rest assured that many of these high dollar sole source awards go to people who are part of the FCPS master plan.

It's the latest revision of the FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR+R) approved by the school board June 9, 2016.

Those closed-to-the-public school retreats are the local political version of meetings held in private planes.

Dimwit attorney Pat Hynes is a wannabe Loretta Lynch; dopey, high school addict Ryan McElveen is a wannabe Bill Clinton (don't forget McElveen's prom date fiasco).

I see McElveen is a big fan of Big Brother in Geroge Orwell's book 1984.
Or perhaps he likes Animal Farm.

If you speak out against transgender consultants, school spirit, football, proms, marching bands, Sea Pearl, educational consultants or online textbooks, you will be sent to Room 101 and tortured with rats.

Per the order of inner party chairman, Ryan McElveen.

You have got to be kidding. You're citing Breitbart, who in turn quotes well-know fear mongerer and all around gadfly Elizabeth Shultz. Here's the actual regulation as cited in abbreviated form in the article...

No student in FCPS shall … on the basis of gender identity … be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity.

Note that this policy has been in place for some time. The only change was to include gender identity. The regulation refers to discrimination 'under any education program or activity'. The burden is clearly placed on the school system not to discriminate. The regulation says NOTHING about hate speech by students. Elizabeth Schultz..

This “discrimination” language means that a student who speaks out against the “gender identity” ideology can be disciplined, and presumably suspended and even expelled, according to board member Elizabeth Schultz, who opposed the change.

Speculation and fear mongering, plain and simple, to appeal to gullible, simple-minded people.

"Subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity" -- includes any so-called discrimination by both students and teachers in any FCPS school.

It DOES NOT say "subjected to SCHOOL-SPONSORED discrimination under any educational program or activity."

And speech by students in public school critical of the "LGBT" agenda is already being censored -- this is not "fearmongering", it's already happening. For example, recently in Oklahoma 9 students were suspended from school for liking a Twitter post which criticized the school's "Gay Pride" efforts.

Speech is a result of belief s and attitude. Censorship and attacks changes neither. Why not have it exposed and out in the open to gain understanding to effect polices that can produce changes that a substantive and promote real change? But I suppose that is too difficult for our so called educated ellete to understand. Perhaps the true goal isn't a sense of community and understand as claimed, but one subjugation and control which historically is more consistent with those in power, and those that covet power. Hence, the 1st amendment. The founding fathers understood human nature pretty well.

How stupid are you guys? It's right in the fucking SR&R handbook:

"Students may exercise the right to freedom of expression through speech, assembly, petition, and
other lawful means and have the right to advocate change of any law, policy, or regulation. The
exercise of this right may not interfere with the rights of others, nor may oral or written student opinion:

Material that is libelous or slanderous—statements that are inaccurate or false statements that
injure the person by damaging his or her reputation; cause personal humiliation, mental anguish,
and suffering; or cause other injuries. A more detailed definition of libelous and slanderous
material and additional guidelines governing such material are contained in the current version of
Regulation 2612."

You say something that causes members of a minority group to feel anguish and they can silence and punish you however they please.
