Melissa's remains were never found. I think she was kidnapped and she is now a doctor. I could be wrong but the picture looks like its possible.
Dr. Melissa Brannen, MEd, is currently a pediatric intensivist at Children’s Memorial Hospital. She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed a pediatric residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC and a fellowship in critical care medicine at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr. Brannen has also obtained her master’s in education from the University of Cincinnati. Currently, her works in education center around curriculum design, teamwork and leadership, as well as comprehension/decision-making as individuals and teams. She is active in medical student education and post-graduate education as a mentor, advisor and facilitator of small group work.
