The author of the article didn't say it was a SWAT raid. He said a bunch of cops came into his apartment and pointed their guns at him because he might have been squatting in the apartment.
The question is should the cops have drawn their guns and pointed them at a person who might be squatting in an apartment. Any reasonable person would say no.
You bang on the door, announce yourself as police officers, and wait for the door to open and you ask questions.
