UPDATE – Homicide Victim Identified
Detectives have determined that a 20-year-old suspect fatally stabbed his brother in the upper body. A second family member, 61 years old, was then stabbed in the upper body when he tried to intervene. The second victim was able to get away from the suspect and fled downstairs. It appears the suspect then shot himself in the upper body.
The second victim is recovering from his injuries. The suspect is being treated for his life-threatening injuries. The deceased has been identified as Haseeb Raza, 24 years old, of Chantilly. No one else inside the home was involved or injured. This investigation is ongoing.
Domestic Death Investigation Continues In Chantilly Area
Sully Police District – On Tuesday, June 25, around 11:19 am, police were dispatched to a private residence in the 4100 block of Travers Court, Chantilly.
Upon arrival officers found three adult males injured. Preliminary information suggests that at least two of the victims suffered from wounds that were consistent with stabbing. Detectives believe that the event was domestic in nature. The three injured men were transported to local hospitals. One of the men later died. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death.
The investigation continues.
