Why is everyone hatin on muslim religion and Haseeb. Obviously, he wanted to life life HOW HE WANTED. He didn't ask to grow up in a strict household in which drinking, and dating outside of marriage was not allowed. For all you haters, he wanted to live a life like you guys, free to do what he wants. I have never attacked Haseeb. I feel sorry for what happened to him and for the grief that his family have been put through.

I do think there is a serious problem with Islam - or more specifically with the way it is followed by many of that faith.

It is nothing short of stunning to see the total chaos in many Muslim countries and the internecine warfare between different sections of followers of the faith. They are literally decimating each other ..... and the number of people killed in drone attacks by the US is negligible compared to the carnage they are inflicting on each other.

I am also critical of Muslims who have moved to the West and how they succeed in importing the very worst elements of their culture and beliefs to their newly adopted countries. For this to be allowed to happen I squarely blame those immigrants who have not countered these disruptive elements. We see this problem in the UK, France, Germany, etc. If we are not careful it will make its inroads in the US.

Haseeb's death - if it was brought about by a so-called "honor killing" - is just another manifestation of the very same culture of intolerance among some Muslims.

Who should counter this retrograde attitude if not the younger generation of Muslims who live in the US? Countering this is not tantamount to rejecting Islam. We hear Muslims who say that those performing murderous acts are not following the teachings of the Koran. If they really believe this they should be the ones acting against those who are acting in a destructive way and contrary to the teachings of Islam.

You are missing the point and living in a dream world. Most of us don't give a flying fluck about the religion people follow. It is when you have a religion whose followers perpetrate terrible atrocities against their own people and others that some of us condemn. And we don't want these nutcases bringing their antiquated way of doing things to this country.
