Fairfax Co. is still writing tickets for cars parked with invalid inspection stickers. This law was invalidated by the Virginia Court of Appeals for a Prince William County law. The Fairfax Co. law just like it. FYI if you get a ticket. The Court's dismissal is attached to this article. http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/15/1553.asp

I've tested the Matchbox radar against a radar detector. It doesn't do anything, so don't bother. You need to buy a professional one, like the VA police use: http://www.decaturradar.com/ http://mphindustries.com/ http://www.kustomsignals.com/ http://dps.dgs.virginia.gov/DPS/DownLoad/MAe194-304etc.pdf

I remember a few years back these 20 somethings stole a stop sign. A few hours later there was a huge accident and 3 people died. They were charged with manslaughter and convicted. They got 15 years in prison, with a minimum of 13 actually served. In 2001 they got the charges dropped on appeal, but not after serving 18 months. The only reason they got off is that the prosecution couldn't prov

He sounds like a complete dumb-ass. It's fitting that this moron leaves behind videos that show what a stupid f*ck he really was. I'm sure he thought he sounded all profound and apocalyptic, but the napoleon dynamite reference was spot on.

It would be funny if 20% of our citizens drove the speed limit on a Monday morning. This place would shut down. I wonder how many days of that it would take before they changed the law?

It will be interesting to see what evidence they have on this guy. According to the indictment, the father smoked pot with Michael's friends. But in reading the Washington Post story http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/05/AR2007040501714_2.html, much of that seems like hearsay.

This law says that if you show up during an adoption proceeding, it's irrelevant that you're the father. By virtue of the fact that you didn't register, you have zero rights to the child.

Sort of. Basically it's saying you *should* register every time you have sex with a woman. The basis for this is that frequently a child is put up for adoption and in the middle of the very long process, the previously unknown father shows up. Being the father, he has certain rights and basically disrupts the whole adoption process. So they create this registry and say you have to register i

This is what I'm talking about: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/police/reports/reports2007/040207dwicrash.htm This guy Marlon Humberto Miranda Rivera, is 25 years old. Pulled over, then decided to make a run for it. He hit several signs, a car and finally a building (over $50,000 in damage to the building alone). This is his *second* DUI and he was driving on a suspended license. In this case,

I guess the relevant question to ask is: Do people not drink and drive because they fear the checkpoint? Personally, I think the vast majority of problems are caused by repeat offenders. I say if you are dui once, you loose your license for a year. Twice, you're taking cabs for the rest of your life.

Anyone know if there's a story about this house on Frying Pan road? I passed it yesterday...looks like it's abandoned and definitely haunted. Here's a google map of the location (with satellite photo too). http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&q=+38%C2%B056%2738.74%22N++77%C2%B025%2714.17%22W&z=19&ll=38.944209,-77.420794&spn=0.000876,0.002704&t=k&om
