It is certainly not illegal to hunt deer in Fairfax County, I'm not sure about Fairfax City itself. In Fairfax County you can hunt with a bow throughout the entire season, and with a gun, (shotgun with Buck Shot, no Slugs) for a large part of the season, however, you need 20 acres of ajoined property to be posted from all entry points in order to use a gun, (hard to find any property that fits t

Honestly, anywhere and everywhere, if you can find a piece of Private Property that backs to a bigger tract of land such as a County Park, you are Golden. Being a fringe species, the small patch-work of parcels in the County create an ideal habitat for them to flourish.

Experienced Bowhunter, (10+ years of hunting backyards in Fairfax County) looking for a few new places to bowhunt deer this up-coming Fall. Anyone open to speaking to me about the opportunity to help control the deer population while simultaneously putting Venison on my family's table would be very much appreciated. All questions/concerns welcome. All I'm asking for is an opportunity. Thank you

Because there are too many people around here that don't realize that the population needs to be managed and bowhunting is the only safe, effective and economical means to do that. Find me a place to bowhunt in Fairfax County and I will feed my family with the Venison and help control the population at the same time.

Plantlady5: The hunting is restricted only to the properties of the people who give permission. It is done from an elevated position, typically from a treestand that is used to climb a tree for the days hunt and removed when the hunter leaves. Any deer that are harvested are taken away by the hunter and the meat is processed/packaged for consumption. My wife and I usually eat 5-6 deer through

No need to hire a bowhunter, there are archers like myself in the County who will do it for free. If you need help just let me know.

Hmmmm to comment back about such an ignorant statement.... Ok, I guess if you are going to twist my arm. Yes deer in many highly populated areas begin to become "conditioned" to humans because we pose no threat to them. If coyotes, wolves and cougars didn't attack deer they would become "conditioned" to them as well. Hence why deer do not run from foxes, raccoons and other non-threatening spe
