I've had the pleasure of knowing a number of pit bulls and rotties, and they were sweet dogs. But I would never have one with children, or have one that was not totally secured.

It's $120,000 per school up front. I bet the cost is actually higher. And that's not counting the ongoing costs, once they're installed. For something that doesn't work and seems pretty damn invasive?

Post a link to the arrest database or we'll assume you're making it all up. Oh, traffic ticket's aren't in there I guess. How about scanning in a copy of the ticket, and saying which court you were in on which day so we can go to the courthouse and read the transcripts?

Anytime I need a cab, I call them 2 hours ahead of time and tell them I need it now. Sometimes they come in 10 minutes, sometimes they come about 90 minutes later. The cabs in Fairfax are very flakey: they will tell you that they are sending someone, they are enroute, etc. They'll keep telling you that for hours...

The substitute police officer can testify as to what is written on the ticket, an official police record. "It says on this ticket, written by Officer Missing on 4/1/2011, that 'SF' was speeding 37 in a 30 MPH zone". He can't testify, "SF was speeding ..." because he didn't actually witness it -- such testimony would be hearsay. The substitute cop can credibly testify that Office Missing wrote

Well, I was asleep, there was shaking, it felt like an earthquake. Then I looked it up, and sure enough there it was. I also had shit falling off of tables when the "big" one hit the other day, which I don't think was the common experience in Falls Church. I think being on the top of an aging high-rise may have something to do with it.

I live nearby (well, pretty much exactly on the part that fell down!) and go to the Skyline TARGET all the time. There's a McDonalds in there, too. (I don't think there's anything else there, unless they have installed a perception filter to keep me from seeing it...) Usually I drive, but I also often walk around this area (e.g. to the TARGET, Giant across the street, Chili's, etc.) at all ho

I stopped into the one in Annandale (LRT) a couple months ago, and it was apparent to me that the manager (that night, anyway) was really working hard to ensure that a good experience was delivered. I've very rarely seen such in this kind of fast-food joint. Color me impressed.
