Question: When you go to one of the carwashes that have 8 different people washing/drying your car, are you supposed to tip them??? I don't mind doing so, but I don't know the protocol and for that reason I have avoided going. If someone can enlighten then I'll give it a try.

Destroying a bridge might look easy in the movies, but remember: They're designed to withstand the immense shear-forces of wind and weather. Deploying an underwater M-32 satchel charge at the base of each load-bearing pylon looks like the answer, but it might not even shake a modern riveted steel highway or railroad bridge. Without delving into the complex language of the guerrilla combat enginee

Can somebody please explain to me why we have so many one-lane bridges in Northern Virginia? With all these $50-100 million overpasses being built all over the place they can't find the money to widen bridges by a few feet? The ones that come to mind are Hunter Mill Rd (Reston), Thomas Dr (Sterling), and Springvale Rd (Great Falls). I've witnessed the bridges in Great Falls and Reston cause

The family has 30+ arrests listed. Isn't it safe to assume that for every arrest they probably broke the law multiple times for which they were not busted? For example, most people with DUIs have probably driven drunk a number of times prior to getting caught. God only knows what else they've done. This entire family is a collective douchebag.

Mercury (pronounced /ˈmɝkjʊəri/) is the innermost and smallest planet in the solar system, orbiting the Sun once every 88 days. Holy crap, that must have cost a boatload to ship something from there. I didn't even know UPS picked up from Mercury.

Landlords may love them, but if the smart ones will never take a blacklight into that house. Oh, the humanity!! I say this with an unblemished record of staunch heterosexuality.

Yes, OpenOffice is another great solution. Just go to http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.1/index.html and click the green bar to download. This suite does the majority of MS Office functions, and the price is right...

If you're still a teacher, or have connections with the school system, you can buy the student version of MS Office at a deep discount.

I walk into the men's room at Potomac Mills. It was a weekday, and the mall was pretty quiet. There were about 10 urinals along the wall, and there were 5 men, one standing in every-other stall. Not a sound was made by any of them--they were just standing there pretending to pee. I finished up, then went out to wait for my wife, who was in the ladies' room changing our baby. I was standing t

I also got my first job through a temp agency in Tyson's, doing general office stuff, and made around $12/hour. They sent me to the HQ of a huge company in the area, and I took some computer classes ("call the name where America trains. Ameritrain!), and ended up full time on the help desk. Now, 6 years later, I'm a network engineer making ~100K.

What a cancer on humanity this 'religion' has become. I don't understand muslim doctors and their passion for blowing up innocent people. Osama bin Laden's number-two, Ayman al-Zawahiri, is also an Egyptian-born physician. Oh, and like Dr. Omeish, he also has ties to the "Muslim Brotherhood." Hang in there, folks. FIOS is coming. I got it at my house (phone, tv, internet). Everything about it rocks, except the fact that I have to deal with Verizon customer support. However, haven't had any problems in the months that I've had it. On another note, why does everyone spell definitely "definately?" I see this everywhere. It's like they don't teach this word in America's school syst

Cops put steel on target: http://www.nbc4.com/news/14088131/detail.html?dl=mainclick Happened right down the street from me early this morning. Of course, this is in Herndon, not Reston, but these reporters are all live in MD and DC and rarely venture out here.
