Once you have it set, your card will just keep working. I've been using it for 2 years with no issues. Some times the refills don't show up for a day or so, but the card keeps working.

Set the thermostat where you can be comfortable; warm clothes are fine, but the space heater costs more for the same heat and is more likely to been you're house down. If you're looking to save money, check your house for drafts. The standard advice has always been 68 degrees in the winter. Get a set back thermostat and let the house cool off at night. Rick

I recommend Leopold. He has told me when no work was necessary, and his rates seem reasonable otherwise. http://directory.insidenova.com/6558755/Leopolds-Chimney-Sweep-and-Air-Duct-Cleaning-Woodbridge-VA If you need local business referrals, Checkbook.org is a, good source. Good luck, Rick

In Arlington, the fee is lower, but the fines are higher, making your check the same. As for the 4% fee, that's to pay the credit card processing fee.

I've only had simple stuff done by Leopold, but they came recommended and did not recommend unnecessary work. What the did was reasonably priced. Rick

Coming North on 123, after Henderson, we saw police activity blocking Southbound 123. It was around 6:45 pm. It looked like there was a motorcycle in the intersection. I'm not sure which cross street it was. Did anyone hear what happened and if the motorcyclist is O.K. ?

Ditto MPG Mopeds. Even if you fix it yourself, you might need parts from them.

We bought an Entourage from them in 2007. They seemed pretty reasonable to deal with. They were certainly interested in closing the deal, but we didn't have to deal with high pressure. Their financing was pretty competitive with what Pentagon Federal would do; they used SunTrust. I know someone who drove up from Fredericksburg to buy a car here, because of the selection here vs. there and h

I've had my Eco repaired at Adcomm Digital, which does Sprint. Maybe they can fix your phone, too. Good luck

Disclaimer: I haven't taken the Auto Train I keep looking for an alternative to flying, but we're generally able to get tickets to fly for $200 (must be timing why other prices mentioned are higher). With a week of rental car, the total is $1000 for a family of 4. We have tried, and failed, to find a cheaper deal with the Auto Train. I really want to take it sometime, for the experience, but

Read your HOA packet and find out if it can be done yourself. Buy the kit with the fiberglass rods that screw together and use the drill to spin. Remove the outside cover and have someone go inside and turn the dryer on air dry. When they hear the brush reach the dryer, have then turn off the dryer so you know to stop. Never reverse the drill with the kit Document buying the kit and doing t

I was aware of its existence, but haven't been inside it. This is the one on Pickett Road? Can anyone compare it to Skatequest on Michael Faraday Court in Reston? I only know about it because you can park there to get to the Difficult Run trail (for MTB types). I haven't been to the parking lot in a few years and have never been inside though. Also, the Capitals built an arena on top of th

I think there's still one on US1, near Fort Belvoir. Take 7100 South until it ends at US1. Turn left. The place is on the left. I think it's still there. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=22060&ll=38.708437,-77.160856&spn=0.000642,0.001206&hnear=Fort+Belvoir,+Virginia+22060&gl=us&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=38.708355,-77.160986&panoid=P8INZntdyhubHLifjaTueg&cbp=

You might consider looking at Washington Checkbook (checkbook.org) before picking an HVAC contractor. You'll get the benefit of many reviews in one place. A family friend had a negative experience with Vernon. I've had Richards install a gas furnace and air conditioner in Arlington in 2004, and the seemed to do a good job. The outdoor unit was a little noisier than I expected, but it defint

I haven't used them personally, but I've heard that water shoots over them in heavy rain. When I replaced my gutters, I went with the larger size gutters and downspouts. When I need to clean them, I use a Gutter Sense and a 23' extension pole from Home Depot. It probably takes me 15 minutes to do all three gutters. Different people report different results with the various gutter covers. J

I was trying to figure out how you could cut a penny with a kitchen knife without risking a finger until I looked and found that it was the scissors. That makes sense now, although I wouldn't do that to good kitchen shears.

It seems OK from here: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1685000330.png I upgraded from 20/5 to 25/25 recently when I renewed my 2 year discount. I had 3/768 DSL for 3-4 years before and it seemed pretty reliable. FiOS has been more so though. Rick

I think I spend about $150 for 2 phones - 1500 shared minutes, unlimited data, texts, etc. with Sprint. I've never gone above 8-9 GB in a month, and these days I'm normally around 1. I don't tether much, but when I do, I just add it to my plan. $360 a year seems high, but $1/day while on a trip is a good deal. I agree that if they give you a data cap, they should let you tether as long as you

Years ago, I bought a car from Rosenthal Nissan. I was recently out of college and didn't know better. I will never do any business with them again. In addition, I'll walk out of a dealership that isn't taking care of me when I'm looking at cars. If that's how they treat you before they have your money, how will they treat you after. It's happened a surprising number of times.

I second the comments about blown-in. I used the Attic Cat from Home Depot and it was pretty easy. A helper is a really good idea. If you have clean up to do, the long hose from the Attic Cat fits a shop-vac, so you can leave the shop-vac on the ground. I used that trick to clean up some overflow under the attic hatch. Good luck

So I got this message from a local ham (amateur radio operator). If you don't know what that is, treat this as overheard on a CB. Does this ring a bell with anyone for yesterday? The signal was most likely near East Falls Church, but can't rule out Arlington or farther into Fairfax. Rick " One ham talking to another. 146.52 mc/s.. He was driving in his car & was coming down an off-ramp

Sprint has a FemtoCell too - it's called the AirRave. For Sprint, if you call them and ask for the retentions department (it's best if you're out of contract or within 30 days when you do), I've read stories of people getting AirRave units for free. I don't know if Verizon would do something similar, but I'd call them and complain. If they can fix your problem for free, you'll be a much happie
