"This sounds to me like the FCPD chased the guy for months with out catching him, and Montgomery County Police were able to catch him during a donut break... with out even letting their coffee get cold. FCPD even admits to focusing their Elite Burglary Task Force for an extensive investigation into this guy. They should be ashamed that all it took was some vigilant street cops to seal the case."

It's not FFX,but Kitty O'Shea's in Arlington (Clarendon specifically) is pretty good. Beer is solid, food is good, if you like soccer they play Manchester City and Man U games. Owner is a good guy, hangs out behind the bar and on Sunday's will play pretty much whatever NFL game you want to see. http://www.kittyosheasva.com/

Get a lawyer-it's still close enough I doubt you want to try and handle it in court on your own. It's worth the money to just get it outright dismissed or pled down to something that doesn't involve your license getting suspended. You could still be on the hook for a suspension if the cop asks the judge to change it to a reckless charge. .07 isn't legally drunk, but it's high enough to merit

So what. Guy was stealing cars, and stole a cop car. So he got a couple of bullets for his efforts. To hell with him. I'm sure the WaPo will have you believe he was on his way to choir practice after saving 10 orphans from a fire when a drunk cop decided to light him up after he yielded to 5 nuns crossing the street. How many police shootings is that this year in FFX? I'm pretty sure it's l

I'm starting my own blog. It's called www.fiscalresponsibilityandmandatoryoversightofpoliticalexpensesandpersonalexpendituresonthetaxpayersdollarsforpoliticians.com For the people, by the people. It's going to focus on the chairman of the board of supervisors that presided over the biggest county budget deficit in history. Who's coming with me?

Duchess-first of all, you don't know that. For all you know, they contacted him and/or his lawyer and one/both told them to shove off. For two, yes on it's face a SWAT approach to a "white collar warrant" as you call it seems a bit excessive, but maybe they had information the guy had guns in his house. This is VA you know, where guns are pretty popular. The fact that gambling isn't "one of

Agreed. I doubt the guys doing the investigation got a pay raise. At the end of the day, the money goes back into the department, which, "ideally" means they aren't raising property taxes or going on ticket campaigns to fund their initiatives. So yeah, if they have to break up underground card games to make ends meet instead of writing me a ticket, sorry guys, sucks to be you.

Can someone provide a website that confirms the PD is trying to start a County Mounty program? I seriously doubt that's the case-where the hell do you ride a horse around here? It's all residential and highways, no real parkland like in DC.

I was actually there after the fact. Talked to a mall cop who said some guy pulled into the garage and his car was smoking. He pulled into a space and jumped out because he was scared. Naturally he parked right next to a whole bunch of other cars, so when his went up, they all went up. I'm pretty glad I parked somewhere else.

According to the 2008 annual report (sorry, most updated online I could find), the helicopter performed 2,364 missions, did 128 medevacs, and was in the air for over 1100 hrs. I'm assuming that for the most part, that was working aerial support for burglaries, shootings, foot chases and pursuits. As for the medevacs, I'm fairly confident if a person is getting taken to the hospital in a helicop
