A 17 mile skydive....

I've never parachuted in my life. I can't fathom the thought of doing this.

'The balloon took 90 minutes to get to 90,000 feet. The crane holding the capsule went up as fast as it could to get the capsule under the 210-foot tall balloon as it rose. After he jumped, Baumgartner was in freefall for five minutes. After five minutes, his parachute opened, at which point it took another seven to10 minutes to descend to Earth.'

I could be wrong but I'm right 99% of the time

What is odd that since there is basically no atmosphere, there is no rush, or sensation of falling, you feel weightless and not moving.

Feeling weightless is the same as the sensation of falling. That's why being in zero G is called "freefall", even in no atmosphere.

There will initially be no real feeling of wind, but as he builds speed and approaches the sound barrier as the air gets denser he will feel it big time. The important thing is that he doesn't start spinning out of control as he goes transonic, since he could pass out or even be killed by the spinning.
