Yeah sure, but I've know several guys going through med school who go enough student loan money at the beginning of the year to buy a car and still have enough to live on, rent an apartment, etc for the year. Living on split-pea soup and crackers and saving up money for body armor, ammo, guns, gas masks, chemicals for his grenades, etc

Now AP is reporting the suspect got federal grant money but they are not sure where it went. Other reports have him spending 15k on guns and ammo. Since he couldnt find a job I wonder if our tax money helped fund his rampage.

This photo doesn't do the couple justice. I saw an interview with them yesterday and he is a wigger. He has an older son (who is black, probably from another girlfriend). Yes, they aren't married, but he proposed to his girlfriend in the ER after the shooting. He actually seems like a decent guy, just kind of clueless about life.

Nothing inherent about what he had which necessarily would affect the effectiveness of a 9mm or any other reasonable cartridge. Body armor isn't a magic shield. If you get shot wearing it, you'll still get the full force and you'll definitely know it and it will at minimum change your current behavior.

Also, he isn't some well-trained SWAT ninja. He's just a kid who bought some evil black shit on the Net a couple of months ago. Had someone been shooting back, as as realistic or unrealistic as you might view that given the circumstances, that very well may have had an effect.

I suggest you look up "North Hollywood Shootout" and see how much it took for those two guys to change their behavior.

What did he wear all that crap for anyway? He surrendered to the police without hesitation, I would think he would put up a fight. With all that body armor, he could have gone out like the North Hollywood shootout back in the 90s.

He surrendered to police because the Joker surrendered to police in the movie. He wanted them to set off the bomb in his apartment.

Not an equivalent example for a number of reasons but even then being shot back at definitely did change their whole plan and affected where they turned their attention, how and where they could move, etc.

I'm not clear he told them it was booby-trapped. I think they may have figured it out on their own.

He is still acting out the Joker persona in jail.

Some are thinking he was trying to get the as many police to his apartment as possible prior to his attack at the movie theater. He had left his stero up loud in hope that the neighbors would call in a noise complaint and the police would break in, The police would all rush there, leaving fewer to come to the theater. That is what the mass killer from Norway(?) did a while back.

Yeah the only behavior that's going to change is the direction his ar-15 is pointed at. Instead of random people it will be your face. You would have to be extremely lucky to do anything more then piss him off.

Better than having somebody shooting everyone absolutely unchallenged. Even for someone trained it's a completely different deal when there's shit coming back your way. That's likely why he picked that place. He knew that nobody else would be armed.

Look I haven't heard white people come out and renounce support for this guy, or for other white shooters, so they obviously shelter and support these urban terrorists. Since they refuse to fight extremists in their community, they should all be profiled as potential shooters. Now find me Caucasia on the map, we need to strike at these shooters right where they spawn from so we don't have to fight them in the movie theaters and schools of America!

24 counts of first-degree murder and 116 counts of attempted murder!



Colorado prosecutors filed 24 counts of murder charges Monday against James Eagan Holmes, the former neuroscience student accused of killing 12 people and injuring 58 others at an Aurora movie theater.


For each victim who died in the rampage, Holmes, 24, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one for allegedly intending to cause harm and another for allegedly acting with extreme indifference to human life, according to court documents.


A conviction under extreme indifference means that any life sentences would have to be served consecutively, not concurrently, said Craig Silverman, a former chief deputy district attorney in Denver.


Prosecutors also filed 116 counts of attempted murder against Holmes, who Aurora police said booby trapped his apartment with the intent to kill any officers responding there the night of the theater attack. Among the charges Monday was one count of possession of explosives and one count of a crime of violence.

Students and faculty really dropped the ball on this one. Not only did the shooter tells classmates that he wanted to kill people, but his counselor also alerted school administrators before the shooting. Nothing was done.

The fun part of all the attention he's getting has worn out, and the reality of a life of jailtime or his execution is setting in. You won't be seeing any more funny faces or antics.

In fact, he's trying to bargain a plea deal to avoid the death penalty.
