Your photobucket account "richwhiteandpretty" is full of unusual photos to say the least, all 232 pics.

Anyway, this pic you claim is your own was taken on April 20th, 2009 with a Sanyo E1090 at around 6 AM.....so I guess you just wanted to wait three years to post this, right? LOL

How many guns do you have?

Any gun in particular you recommend for women?

Nothing bigger than a 9mm. The larger calibers offer more stopping power, but the smaller calibers have less recoil and are easier for most women to handle.

Depends on the role.

Home defense gun? Well, then whatever you can operate easily.

If you're a girly girl with weak hands and who thinks guns are "icky", then you'll probably want to get a revolver because they're easy to use.

Go to a gun store and ask the people working there what they'd recommend for females. I'd stick to brands like Smith and Wesson and Ruger personally. I'd never buy something like a Taurus (Made in 3rd world Failzil) for example.

Pick the most powerful caliber you can handle. But don't go under .38 Special or 9mm. Just make sure you use hollow point bullets (as opposed to full metal jacket bullets) since they do more damage.

You might like a Smith and Wesson J-Frame:

http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category4_750001_750051_757768_-1_757767_757751_image

The Smith and Wesson J-Frames also serve quite well as a daily carry.

I took a quick glance at the J-Frames and this would be the specific model I recommend for you:

I even found a female perspective review for you:

I have a .38 J-Frame, and the smaller size does NOT make it easier to fire. With a gun that small, your hand absorbs all the force of the recoil.

No, thanks. The point of having a gun that small is to easily conceal it so you can pull, point, and fire in the shortest amount of time possible. A "belly gun," if you will. Semi-autos are not as reliable as a revolver, and reliability is the main consideration in the situation you'd need a gun that size. The 6+1 capacity doesn't give enough of an advantage over a revolver to be worth it.

Semi-autos are great as a sidearm; the quick reload speed, the increased ammo capacity, etc. For a concealed-carry panic gun, though, revolver is the way to go.

The Beretta Nano is a great little pocket pistol, and has a trigger pull far superior to a Ruger LC9 or any Kel Tec. The only thing you have to watch out for is making sure you never fire +P or +P+ ammo in those things. That hot ammo will tear up the tiny frame polymer pistols.

I would not recommend the Kel Tec PF9. The fit and finish is sloppy, it has a long break in time, and is generally unreliable.

If you must get a small Kel Tec, get a P11. It is much better than the PF9.

Yes, it is hard to find, and often quite expensive. The 10mm is popular among handloaders, as they can produce their own ammo much cheaper than factory loads.

The recoil doesn't look that bad. It's more the framze size I'm worried about so she can fit her hand around the handle.

And you also have to keep in mind that while, yes, heavier guns absorb recoil, they're also harder for female shooters to hold out in front of them.

That's why I selected the 15 ouncer.

I'd personally go with a Glock 26 (in fact, that is what I carry) or even a Glock 19. Lot more firepower and proven reliability.

Get a nice leather inside the waistband holster and nobody will ever know you're carrying. And if you place it in the dent of tushy cheek, then it won't be all that uncomfortable either.

I've read bad things about Kel-Tec. Lots of malfunctions.

Yucky, you have no idea what you are talking about. As someone that has owned a Model 442 and 637, I can tell you the recoil and muzzle flip on a snub nose revolver is harsh, actually much more harsh than shooting a .45 ACP or .410 handgun.

Oh, it's bad. Thirty regular .38 rounds in at the range and the webbing between my thumb and index finger was screaming. I got my hands on some +P ammo from a mysteeeeeeeerious benefactor, and I can't even imagine what that's going to feel like. Then again, my hands are so big that the webbing is what makes most of the contact with the grip. Maybe, MAYBE, a woman's smaller hands can get more of the palm against the grip and mitigate that somewhat.

These little snub-noses are not designed for target shooting or long-range shooting. They are for close-quarters problem solving where the recoil is less of an issue because the target is so close. I honestly don't know why the one I bought comes with a laser sight.

That's where the intent behind getting a particular weapon comes in. Does the woman want it for practical self-defense or for target shooting at the range? They're not going to be holding it out in front of them for long periods of time in self-defense. For target shooting, then sure, they'd probably want something a little lighter if they're going to be putting 50+ rounds through it at a time.

Meph, I found wearing weight lifting gloves while shooting helps a lot with absorbing recoil. Get some of those fingerless gloves with thick padding on the palm, it makes a big difference.

The Bodyguard is the only gun that hurts to shoot after a couple dozen rounds. I can only fit my middle and ring finger around the grip; my pinkie sort of wraps up the underside of the grip. The recoil launches the top edge of the grip directly into the webbing. That's where I really need the padding.

Curse my overly-large man hands.

Uh, zombies of course. Anyone who has watched a few episodes of the Walking Dead knows that just a little bit of prep in the guns and ammo department will make life go much easier when the zombie apocalypse falls upon us.

To that effect, here are my zombie plinkers. I enjoy cheap and highly effective weapons. I'm looking to add a converted Saiga 12 next. The Hi-Point 995 has been reconfigured since that photo. Instead of the holographic sight it now has the original iron sights and a Streamlight TLR-4 laser sight/110 lumen tactical flashlight on the lower rail in front of the forward grip.

Yes, in New Jersey it is supposedly illegal to own hollow point ammunition.

However, the state has byzantine, hard to navigate gun laws, it is actually legal to have hollow point ammunition in your home, but you cannot carry it with you or transport it.

Blessed are the murderous.

Hi Point carbines are actually great, rugged weapons. You can even buy a kit for it to make it look like a Beretta CX4 Storm.

So if I understand correctly, hollow point ammo is significantly more deadly because the bullet shatters upon impact(with bone I guess) shooting little shrapnel like bits of metal throughout the target's insides?

Nothing wrong with that IMO! If I'm gonna shoot somebody I might as well do it right.

That is more along the lines of frangible ammunition.

Hollow points are designed to mushroom, expanding the wound cavity. The mushroomed bits increase the chance that a vital organ is struck and injured.

Earlier hollow point designs expanded too quickly, sometimes right when hitting clothing. This prevented sufficient penetration; newer designs are supposed to penetrate barriers such as clothing and skin, and only expand after entering the body.

Since nigger have thicker skulls.

If you're using a center-fire revolver, use nothing less than a .38 Special +P. ( NOT a standard .38 load! ). 357 Mag, and .44 Special are also good.
If you have to use a .22,( revolver or auto ), make it a high velocity "Stinger" round, no less -not your generic-grade .22 LR round.
If using a center-fire auto -no less than a .380. Ideally, use a .40 cal, or .45 ACP, but 9mm +P is okay, too. Use expanding bullets.
A .30 cal ( 7.62mm X 25mm ) "Tokarev" round, is an exellent penetrator. I would feel VERY confident going for a head shot with this round!
Velocity is somewhere around 1,900 feet-per-second, I think.

This is a bunch of word soup. Did you copy and paste from different sites? It's pretty clear you aren't familiar with any of this terminology.

Do I detect we have a rival gun expert to EESH? Me thinks EESH is mad. Anyway most of what EESH say on guns is bullshit anyway.

99% of people don't know shit about guns. I'm the only person on here who really knows guns.

Hollow points usually peel back creating a mushroom pattern which creates a much larger wound cavity. It also transfers more of the energy in the bullet to the body.

This thread is beginning to remind me of something...

"Gecko45 writes:

hello friends,

Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.

What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken to duct-taping a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.

Here is the questions. The ducttape solution, although tactically sound, is hot and painful to remove. I would like to go to the single-plate solution in back. What I am worried about is repeated hits to that area with .308 ammunition. I have a high-risk security job and I fear that I would be the target for repeated long-distance shots to my back.

Are any of you aware of a thicker plate that could stop, say, .338 Lapua or something like that? Is there a better way to do the second plate?

BTW, I am, of course, usually carrying a pair of ceramic plates in my briefcase so that I can shield my head. My SO (we work as a team when necessary) has a similar accessory containing a breakdown NEF single-shot 300 WinMag with an 18" bbl. The plan is that I shield us with my body and “catch the rounds” while she assembles the NEF. I lay down covering fire with my 23 (Bar-Sto .357 Sig barrel) and she makes the long shots. I will then throw smoke grenades to obscure the area while continuing to lay covering fire. The problem, of course, is when I have to turn my back to run, and then the problem crops up.

Thanks!"

Complete bullshit...I bet you think "shredders' are real bullets too. A Glaser Safety Slug will do more damage any day, while jacketed hollow cavities are more durable than regular hollow points.

What exactly are you trying to say here?

A few things:

1.) What is a shredder?

2.) Glaser safety slugs are not that great. Few pistols feed them reliably and the shot fails to penetrate to any significant depth.

3.) As far as my comment about older hollow point designs, this is true. Newer designs offer better penetration before expanding. Older designs and ammo from cheaper manufacturers will do either of two things; expand too soon and barely penetrate, or not expand at all and act like ball ammo.

Please know what you are talking about before disputing someone else's post.

Tryed one, a lot stuff to be stuffing in your pants on your hips. Then you have to oversize your pant waist. Your pants end looking like that Meade character pants you. I heard they work great for that combat tupperware.
