It's probably beneficial to elderly persons and other people with disabilities, but everyone in Honda's promotional video is perfectly healthy and could walk faster than that UNI-CUB.

I have to wonder if the elderly and people with disabilities could even get on that thing without taking a nosedive. And it has to be terrible for people with back problems.

Fuck that. Remember when the Segway first came out and they had problems with the thing coming to an abrupt stop when the battery ran low? Now imagine that same problem, except you're sitting down, you're on one wheel, and there's nothing but air between you and the ground.

The only thing this kind of invention is good for is demonstrating technology's potential. No way this is a finished product.

Now that looks like fun. But I still don't see the practical application. The handicapped would have the same issues with this as they do with wheelchairs - accessibility. And the rest of us don't really need it.
