Mike acknowledges they have other plans, but still get pissy when nobody shows up at 5...Even though he knew they wouldn't beforehand...When people start showing up 9ish his mental illness kicks in to overdrive and he starts feeling like they are "using" him just for his location(the VERY location HE invited them to, mind you) and he gets pissy and goes upstairs...When the party continues without him, he reminds Carla that "this week, you are the Lady of the House" and has HER run everybody off(HIS family members, who HE invited) using lil Michael as the excuse "Well, people, we have a 3 year old, time to clear out"...And then later acts like he was in the right, because his FAMILY didn't observe Mike's silent pre-fireworks two drink minimum policy...He says he forgot they were all dicks up there, and that he is probably going to sell the house after the summer...The saving grace was Oscar pointing out that he is the common denominator in "dick-filled" Manassass, Cocoonville, and Hancock and Mike brushing it off like he used to do when Oscar pointed out that ALL his health problems stemmed from his obesity and not his genetics...It has certainly been the best segments of July, but that's not saying much

How anyone deals with this man-baby in real life is beyond me.

It sounded like his entire hissy fit was because his retards didn't "like" a facebook post enough for him...It sounds like he was feeling extra needy and wanted some attention so he made a post about Ann Dowd getting nominated for a show he doesn't even watch and he was NOT inundated with the validation he craved...In a fit of paranoia(he wasn't sure if there was a "technical difficulty"), he creates a random post saying Ice Cream and it got over a hundred likes(it WAS National Ice Cream Day) which seemed to drive him over the edge because in his mentally ill reality people cared more about ice cream than his need for validation...Sending the test post really takes the cake...That's how far gone he is...He thought it was just a glitch when people ignored him...I'll bet he used to pick up his landline a lot to see if it was working and then got worried that somebody was trying to call while he was checking the line...New week, another reference to Don(like I said, we're getting about one a week now). Oscar pulled back the curtain and admitted that they have been taping Friday shows on Thursday during the Summer for about the last 4 years now(something we were aware of because Oscar and Robb refused to change shirts with Mentally Ill Mike) after Mike attempts to bitch at them about taping last Friday's show on Thursday...Which would beg the question, why can't Mike stay for the 2nd show on Thursday? We all know the answer is laziness...During Mike's hissy fit, he did reference a post or two on the CLOSED fanpage lamenting his TRAVEL DAYS...Does he think it was hard to crack his code? Travel Day is just ANOTHER vacation day, literally with a different name...It sounds like THAT is what Mike is REALLY mad at...the fact that he can't lie and deceive his rubes as easily as he once could

All that being said, Ann Dowd is remarkable in both that and The Leftovers. Her performance in Handmaid's Tale is so brilliantly nuanced she deserves every nomination she could possibly receive.

TL;DR...

I saw his damn post and the thing that jumped out at me was that once again, Mike made it all about him. He simply could not congratulate Ann on her accomplishment. He had to qualify it by saying "HE CALLED IT!" which somehow implies that he was responsible in some logic-twisted fashion. Bring out the show police, but didn't he predict her "winning" a couple of Emmys? Not quite the same as a nomination, but in TMOS land, that's close enough.

Mike is the adult version of the stupid kid shouting to his parents, "watch me, watch me!" as they proceed to do nothing spectacular whatsoever.
