Regarding Spewak doing PA work for HS football games this fall -- What's the norm for PA announcers at such games? Do they announce basic play by play ("Pass complete to Nutsack. First down, Confederates!") Does he need to be aware of down and distance? I guess he'll get help from the scoreboard operator (assuming they're in the booth together). Are HS refs mic'ed or will Spewak have to read the signals and make the announcement over the PA system? That would be awesome, especially if an uncommon call is made (e.g., ineligible receiver downfield). What are the odds he knows what a touchback is?
Those Tuscarora HS games have the potential to be a hilarious shitshow (due to the PA announcer).
