This is an historic moment... (as a newscaster might say)

This lonely thread will outlast all MOM efforts to date.

The Mike O'Meara Show (JFK) -Done
The Mike O'Meara Show (Failcast) -Almost Done
The Kirk & Mike Show (WVRX) -60 day shelf life at best
Mike & Carla (Marriage) -?

This thread -75 pages strong, bitches!

First, I'd like to thank WTL for creating this thread. Thanks to all of those that have contributed, and especially to "pod". Thanks for nudging us past the 75 page milestone buddy!

There are few things that compare to the pride and joy I feel at this moment. Wedding day? First child born? First blow job? I don't know if those quite compare to this moment.

Uh oh,,,possibly more bad news for MOM,,,sister station WMAL is eyeballing 105's
FM signal according to dcrtv ,,,

I think Mike knows this because he was talking about doing the podcast from "Florida or where ever he ends up,," and speculated on how they would do the podcast from different locations,,,,

I guess the real question is, if Mike moves away, will Big O and Dukes take in
Rob(b),,,I still tink Buzz will end up with Don,,,

Why waste a good FM signal on the shit that's on there now? As for WMAL's current signal, it would be funny if Citadel threw Tejano music on there.

Well, if that speculation is going on, I would think that the Citadel honchos are giving him signals that the relationship probably won't continue beyond whatever initial agreement they have. As for doing the podcast from different locations, sounds like Mike's house is about to go on the auction block. I guess there isn't enough room in Rob(b)'s one bedroom apartment and Buzz's wife probably has the balls to say "no" to this nonsense.

Rob(b)? No. Not at all.

Buzz...yeah, I could see Buzz ending up with Don. Especially if Don gets some national pick-up and can make the case for staying in OC.

This has been brought up again since the new guy has been hired to shape things up a bit. Like it or not MAL is one of the few talk formats left in this area, and with the current administration people are tuning into the Right Talk format in greater numbers these days. The skeleton crew that runs MAL seems to turn a respectable profit given what they have to work with. So this isn't that farfetched of a scenario. I'm not saying it's a good idea though...

Here's the scoop: WMAL introduces "the New Grandy Group", featuring Mike O'Meara!
It will be kind of a point, counterpoint thing, but with fart sounds.

That's sad. But, really, it seems to be the only station in the country willing to give him a job in radio. Plus, rent on a trailer is cheap there, too, from what I hear.

I think that's their security blanket, that's what they think about when they turn in for the night...

If all else fails I can move to FL/IA. Guess what Mike, you still need to unload that house. Think your credit is bad now, just wait. Oh and Rob(b) what makes you so sure your family is coming along with you? Will you have enough for the deposit on the u-haul?

Rob(b):
KCJJ with have him, that is for sure. The real question is, for how long? The aging station owner will be forced to sell eventually and Rob(b) will be tossed out on his ass. He'll then be in the same boat, just in Iowa this time. I hear 30k a year goes a bit farther out there though...

Mike:
He can abandon his current home and haul ass to FL, but he still has to pay his bills. Local FL radio doesn't pay so much these days, just ask the Greaseman. Good luck seeing those kids anytime soon...

This is why getting old sucks,,,

I think about how great WJFK was for 20+ years, with Howard,D&M,Big O & Dukes,
the junkies,,,,hell I even miss Liddy a little,,,and how I just assumed there would always be something good/interesting to listen to on the station,,

But everything in life is time and place,,,you peak and then start to go down hill,,,its never pretty and most often its very sad

I think right now Big O and Dukes would be at their peak if they were on the radio,,,their podcast is great, but a daily radio show is the real goal to aspire to,,,
I hope they get back on before its too late

I have a feeling Chad is a radio guy for life,,,but I think Oscar is at his heart a business man and won't be funny when he "grows up"

This is great. 75th (page) aniversary!

Here's (a) bottom line for Mike: he's distanced himself from the "Don & Mike" brand for too long. People are not going to remember him or care that he's on the radio for long. This is assuming he gets to do "his show" at some point (a la Don G.) Podcasts in general aren't a long-term endeavor unless somebody finds out a way to make money off of them. For the rest: Robb needs to head to Iowa for whatever's left for him out there, Oscar needs to focus 100% on O&Dukes, and Buzz should finally leave the kiddie table and go be a real newsman somewhere.

What's funny is that Mike seems to have patterned his life after Diamond. The terrble Zoo shtick. The multiple marriages. The crappy band. Yet Diamond has found a way to make it all work. It must burn Mike's ass to see him everyday.

To further expound...

Yeah that image was originally from the Primerica thread and made it's way here. It actually reads "Primerica is a rip off", someone changed it to "Primerica is great", then I added TMOS and the picture of Mike.

So, they got the image from either the Primerica thread or this one and are using it to promote Mikes gig. I just find it amusing that something from FFU is being used to promote mike.

So you think Mike doing a Chad-type gig is meant as a slap at Oscar for doing the Big O and Dukes podcast? Also, I notice he is doing this to promote his podcast and not the radio show. Hmmmm. Conflict here?

I think Mike will do anything for cash/free drinks at this point. I also believe that he sees the writing on the wall and is focusing his promotional efforts on the one remaining revenue source he still has, the failcast.

That add should prove to all the naysayers that MOM and the boys do read this thread,,,and I think its kind of an F-U to the thread,,,

I also think MOM doing an MMA show, which I could swear I heard him disparage; is his way of letting Big O and Dukes that he's the bigger personality and can take whatever he wants if he wants to,,,,

Unless Chad turned the gig down and kicked the crumb over to Mike

I thought that it may have been a casual "F-U" to the thread, but really when you pull an image from that deep in the thread, you have to be a regular visitor. This simply illustrates how intently this thread is viewed by the MOM crew.

It's also very possible that this little appearance might be part of some angry pissing contest. But it seems that the winner of this competition will ultimately be a looser because this is a war waged entirely in the mind of Mike O'Meara.

He's a nationally renowed radio personality in his own mind. Most people have never heard of him outside D.C. This is almost as funny as his Metro Subway ads saying that he is #1 on iTunes.

I also caught what Troll@AOL was talking about on 105.9. Most of the insults were for Mike - I think he was waiting for that particular cut-down from someone.

Is rob(b) wearing the same shirt over and over?

Seems that color is very popular with the heavy weight crowd.

Rob(b) wears it constantly, the fatguy riding the moped thinks it is cool and even the Fat Lady belly-slam .gif-guy thinks it's a great color for his underpants.

Gross!

Because everyone knows nothing compliments a fat guy, like Puke Pea Green.

That picture of Mike probably best describes him at any party.... Standing alone, sucking on his bottle. Nobody dares to approach him because they don't want to listen to him.... he won't stop his whining about being fat, broke and/or drunk.

Then there's Robb on the far left. Stuffing his face as usual and talking about what ancient celebrity has died recently & how much he misses them already. Lame. Word is Zsa Zsa Gabor is on her deathbed at home in Beverly Hills. i do feel sorta sorry for robbay. he is sort of chasing a dream, now you don't enjoy stomping on a dream do you, a dream of a radio that died out a decade or so back
its kinda of nice to have a woman that i presume is letting him pursue the dream even if it is with that lazy fat fuck

plus looks like he and donnie g had a big falling out. i always thought those two were butt buddies till the end but alass it didn't come to fruition and donnie g. cast him aside and moved on

still donnie g. is a way better listen than the shit the lazy fat fuck dispenses

You're right about one thing, I shouldn't care. I realize this is your comic outlet, but talking about this show is like a straight dude bending over, taking it and saying, "I hated that s@#$, but tonight I'll do it again just so I can write for all my fans how much I hate it."

I've never defended the show, I think the first thing I said was that I thought it was Mike O'Meara who was doing this and then one or two people decided I was talking directly about them. I guess anyone who thinks this chain is on some BS automatically likes the show. Just ignore me.

I've listened to the podcast, not that good. I don't know if it's as bad as listening to Lavar butcher the English language with that goofy accent for four hours or Mike Wise alternating between trying to be "down" and sounding constipated.

Papuserias, that's funny (and I mean literally).

There was never a half of anything that listened to Mike's show, much less Northern Virigina. And if that glum C Katie, with the shrill voice and boring stories was the only reason people turned in, I feel more pity for her that she was drug into that nightmare.

I'm glad that you don't care, that's obvious from your string of posts. "This" isn't my comic outlet, TMOS is where I find my comedy. There is not a whole lot funny about the actual content of the show, I find the life and times of the O'Meara clan much more amusing. Example: You find yourself smothered in debt, what's the first thing you do when some money trickles in the door? Lease a new Lexus, that's right, the O'Mearas never disappoint!

Just because you are not as enamored with the fumbling failure magnet known as Mike O'Meara, don't hate on the thread. You do seem to have a one track mind though, what's with all of the homosexual commentary? Perhaps you should experiment a little, get it out of your system, maybe that will occupy your idle time and keep you off of this evil thread.

Yeah, papuserias are funny!

An Irish study of 247 patients found ELC had a predictive value of 71 percent for heart disease, showing what statisticians call low sensitivity but high specificity. Translated: if you don't have ELC, that doesn't necessarily mean you don’t have heart disease, but if you do have ELC, it's a pretty good bet you do. And take it easy on the Jell-O pudding pops.

True. That said, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea if Mike spent a little less on Lexus leases and trips to AC and spent a little more on EKGs and blood work.

I've always thought that Mike lives his life as haphazardly as he does because he knows that he faces an untimely end. His sister took a look at the family history and altered her lifestyle, not mike. Drink more booze, blow more money, and make more bad decisions, that's the Mike O'Meara mantra.

I just hope his kids make it through college before he checks out, he owes them that much. I'm sure Carla is all stocked up with term life insurance policies, there's probably already a down payment on that plus sized casket. Is it too early to start printing the MOM commemorative t-shirts?

In Your 50s

Fifty is the typical age when some men can develop coronary heart disease, according to Dr. Topol. The prevention prescription? An exercise stress test. This test, sometimes called a treadmill test, monitors how well your heart handles work. As you walk or pedal on an exercise machine, the electrical activity of your heart and your blood pressure are measured. As your body works harder during the test, it requires more oxygen, so the heart must pump more blood.

The only problem with this would be that the stress test may actually cause a sudden cardiac arrest. The most exercise Mike gets these days is when he decides not to use the drive-thru at burger king. This may change because he's finding it harder to fit into the booths for some reason.

-I don't think I should apologize for Mike and crew's morbid obesity. As previously stated, the "humor" comes from Mike's actual life, not the posts here. Example: You have 75k worth of negative equity and attempt to refi with no money down, hilarious! I take the comments to mean that Mike intends to default on his credit cards (unsecured debt). Nice to know that he feels it's ok to stick that to the rest of us, so he can keep his house and new Lexus lease. Was that your take?

I have not, and will not, listen to the podcast in question. You can't really default on credit card debt, for the very reason that it is unsecured debt. The only way to get relief from that debt is by filing for bankruptcy, or by using one of those fine, upstanding companies that claim to be able to get you debt relief. Good luck with that, Mike, if that is the route you are thinking of taking. I suggest that you not answer your phone any longer, as the collection agencies are relentless. Maybe a collection agent will do a call-in to the new show!

Whoa, whoa, whoa, now I'm all for good ol' fashioned Mike bashing but this is just going too far!

Ok, so he's a little upside down on his mortgage, so the minimum payment on his credit card is upwards of 5k at this point, so he's about to lose his radio job (again). A man like Mike O'Meara can't be expected to drive around in a Toyota Highlander with almost 50k miles on it, I mean come on that's 50,000 miles! Seriously, what kind of penis mobile is that anyway? It screams "I'm a sensible middle aged man", Mikey can't be seen in such a looser wagon! Now a Challenger affordably says "hey ladies, while my penis is withered and flaccid, take a look at my big, long, hard, shiny, new muscle car!" How about queen O'Meara, can she lower herself by cruising in a beat old '08 VW? I think not, she has put up with enough of Mikes shit, she is due some compensation, in the form of a new Japanese luxury vehicle. Of course she is making the payments with "her money", so um yeah, not going to go there...

My point is that Mike is a hard working radio legend, and he deserves a certain "quality of life". So cut him a little slack the next time a frivolous purchase is made, or the next time he takes a trip to AC, because he deserves it!

anti Warren,
That is exactly where I was going. I believe you can file bankruptcy and still keep your mortgage and car. Could be some old business debts (think restaurant) in addition to credit cards etc. It'd be nice to make it all go away and keep what you want, however someone else is utimately picking up the tab.

Even if Mike doesn't go the bankruptcy route and judgments against him are obtained by his creditors (if this hasn't already happened), he will never be forced to pay. His credit will be shit, but that's nothing new. Other people have been footing the bill for this asshole's fuckups for years now...

Exactly,Lady Washington. Mike said, "I'm going to stay in my house, and this is how I'm going to do it. I'm going to ruin my credit." (i.e. default on the debt)

I didn't think it made any sense at all. As others here have said, there is no way to simply "default" on credit cards. You're going to have to pay one way or the other.

Exactly.

Mike had some delusion that President Obama wearing a Superman suit was going to come rescue his ass with a briefcase full of money or some shit. Uh... Mike... it's called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY bonehead. Mike O'Meara and others like him are the reason why the interest rates on MY credit cards have gone up... and I have NEVER defaulted or have even paid late!!! I have to pay for fuck-ups like Mike that have overextended themselves over the years!!! It's called budgeting your goddamned money.............. look into it. He should have learned that in his high school economics class. And oh yeah, Mike admitted on the podcast a while back that he turned job offers down after getting laid off from CBS. Another bonehead move. If he would of took them, he probably wouldn't be in the position he's in now.

Mike's creditors can force him into bankruptcy, forcing him to lose his house, anyway. It would be better for him to get a rental and walk away from his house than to fuck up his credit.
