OG Fat Baby can still spend most of a Failcast reading crap off "social networking". As far as I can tell, LFF has made one post on Facebook this month. Blob(b) spews utter garbage all day long, but the Klubbers eat it up. I guess that 20 minutes of show prep and a standing appointment with the couch to watch television makes it hard for LFF to do anything else to promote the show.

His facebook page is a stream of bad schtick from Klubbers (Here's a lobster with drumsticks!) and semi-nude women posted by Blob(b)'s perv of a father. If that doesn't make a major market radio station want to hire the fat bastard, nothing will.

I listened to 8 hours of d&m on pybs today & I have to say that Don was really the mastermind behind all their success. Mike & robb clearly needed to be reigned in by Don.

NO, no such thing.

I fast forward enough through non Best of shows. I listened to the best of bonus show last time, and it confirmed that no one is missing anything by skipping that crap. You'd think they would try harder for the paid show, but clearly that is not the case.

They only show that is the best is the "Shuttle" show where Mike makes a colossal ass of himself over whether you can see the shuttle better from the back of s truck bed or not and then picks a fight with Buzz over it.

I know this is ancient history, but I always imagined Janet looking far better than this.

Do you think Don's money is running low? There was a lot of moving around between the time they got married to now. I know she had a sweet job at one point. Unless they gave them to Bart, I know that there was at least three pieces of property involved in DC/Virginia; his house, her house and the beach house.

I felt the worst for Don when Buzz first interviewed him a couple of years ago. He really thought he could just go anywhere and do anything on major market radio. The RELM thing with Buzz was pretty sad for a guy like him to go through. But, this latest thing he's doing now is pitiful. I mean, right after he launches his own show, people can't get the downloads, and the guy he's "settled" on to co-host...doesn't want to do it after a couple of weeks.

This other guy just sounds like an old drunk. Again, the freebie shows probably aren't doing any justice. They just make me sad. Between Mike calling a Burger King, and Don talking to some dumb ass, no name comic, playing the local "Yuck Factory," it was a pretty sad summer for an old "radio gods" fan.

Icing on the cake? An audiobook with Spewak in a speaking role. That's it. I'm throwin' down my Mike now.

Don needed another mother figure to tell him what to do after his first mother/wife died. If I remember correctly, he was only able to last 6 months without a new woman.

Don is an extremely stupid person. He needs another person in his life to clean, cook, pay bills, run errands etc. Janet was the first one to come around who was able to fill the mommy shoes so Don latched onto her.

Even with Don having a Gump level IQ, he was always good with his money. There's no way in hell Don is hurting for money. I'm assuming he's still podcasting because he still enjoys speaking into a mic and he really doesn't want to retire because of his ego. I bet he feels it would be admitting he's a has-been.

The thing is, podcasts, for the most part are irrelevant. And as long as someone does it solely as their means of expression the more irrelevant to mainstream they become.

So Don has to speak into a mic to stroke his ego while Mike simply marries someone who could be his daughter. I would argue that Mike has more of an IQ issue. He's at a time in his life where he should be cruising into his sunset years. Instead he has the obligations of someone in their 30s but with the energy and patience of an oldster.

Cruising into the weekend obsessing about other men and their lives. Posting pictures of their children is disturbing. The obsessing over the men is one thing but the children takes it to a whole other level of mental illness.

I'd like to add that Don created a situation where his only decent co-host beyond Mike, Drew Hoffar had to fake his own death to get into drug rehab. But in all honesty I'm not sure how all the particulars went down. I listened as Drew and his girl got locked in pretty tight with Don and Janet. Geronimo was even making a commitment to him financially when one day Hoffar called in sick and disappeared.

Yeah, I gotta back them up on that. I heard them too and that's how I heard Drew Hoffar get tight with Don and then disappear. Believe it or not I felt bad because Drew was the first guy Don seemed to trust after KHTK,Buzz and RELM and then he took a powder. Don made a real effort to stay polite and then plugged Phantom into his spot.

If you think about it, Don's rolled through a lot of changes. God forbid Mike try the show without Robb or at least in a a non-speaking roll.

No way of knowing if Don had #1 rated shows before Mike, that was almost 30 years ago. Even if he did, who cares, it was 30 years ago.

D&M did have #1 ratings in many markets and were great for a long time.

My biggest beef with Don is he hasn't talked about anything new in 10 years. Of course, I've never heard his subscription podcast. I don't need to pay to hear Phantom, or Don telling stories from 45 years ago about the D.O.T. Gang. Or hear him play Stump the Stoop. (We get it Don, you know old records) Or pay to hear old Elvis stories. Funny stuff back in the day, boring as hell now.

You should actually listen to Don before judging. The show is SO much more than you related. It's markedly better than KHTK. Where HE was #1 rated in 12-4 and mornings. Don crams a lot of content in every show.

Got to agree here. Saying Mike was successful on his own would be like saying Buzz or Joe had successful radio careers. Buzz, Robb, Joe and Mike were all successful at one time on one show; with Don. Don did well before and after. And yes, Don was rated #1 twice in Sacramento at KHTK.

The funny twist that I would claim is that Mike hasn't any better a career without Geronimo than Buzz or Joe Ardinger.

It's funny, my point was never that Mike is as talented as Don. There is no question he was the engine that drove the D&M train, but Mike played a significant role back then. I think that is what frustrates many of us here. Mike is no longer willing to do put in the work creative, cutting edge stuff. He's too lazy to try that hard.
