Yes. Think of ice. This has meaning. Imagine a very fat O'Meara hockey player outside on a pond. When I was a kid in Ohio we played hockey on ponds in the snow. Now, the ice is getting thin. It is warming up. Now is the time for Mike to think about his team. Does he want them all on the ice? Should he send a guy or two to the shore? The ice can barely support him alone.

I think the show will be very different by April.

That's about right. Rob(b) can continue driving his radio/failcast "career" right into the fucking ditch, and Cary's got to keep working at Target, so she can weep in the parking lot before she starts work. Uh-huh.

You're trying too hard to find shit to criticize. There's more than enough things wrong with the show to bitch about, making fun of the baby is shitty and unnecessary. And it's not funny.

Does anyone else notice when there are other "cooler" people on the show the dynamic between Mike and Robb changes. It reminds me of high school when someone acts nice to a person when they're with them alone but turn into a dick when they are with their group of friends. It becomes obvious that Mike doesn't think much of Robb as a person. I noticed this when Mickie was on the show. You could tell Mike was distancing himself from Robb. I haven't listened to the cop christmas show yet but I bet it happens there as well. It's a shame Mike is so lazy that he has to rely on Robb so much. I know he never will but I wish Oscsr and his five head would approach Mike about Robb.

Yeah I don't have a problem with Carla or Shannon. They both look perfectly attractive to me. Plus they don't have a say in the show so I'm cutting them miles of slack.

Again, there's so much to hate about Blobb and that Mike needs to improve on that I can find ample material to harp on. I don't want to widen my scope, I want to stay focused on the shitty show.

Kappy does creep me the hell out though.

You are right, the kid is cute and that is why this pic IS funny. It looks nothing like the baby and therein lies the joke. You think the baby is going to get offended and have his feelings hurt? Better that we make fun of a woman who is probably a decent human being and will truely be damaged by the hurtful things said here? Hey BOTH are funny, nice job PECOS. On the plus side, now Blobb will have the free time he has been looking for to find additional or more gainful employment! That's two B's for the Walmart Greeter name tag.

It would be entertaining if Oscar gave 4Chins some shit about not taking on any additional work after being given the boot from an Iowa AM station.

I feel bad for Robb. Granted he sucks at being funny. He can be at times but he takes everything way over the top. I think he is good at playing radio though. I wonder if he is even looking for another job? Regardless of the KCJJ thing you'd think he would have enough time - even in the evening or overnight or something to find something else. I gotta believe there are going to be some heated conversations about him finding more work now that he lost the KCJJ thing. He very well may feel the same way Mike does and think that he is above certain jobs. Or maybe Kappy gives them enough that he feels he doesn't have to work.

Yeah, a question even more amusing than, "How little cash DOES the failcast generate?" is "How much cash have they sucked out of Kappy?" Of all the ways to throw money away, supporting the failcast has to be WAY down there.

Well if you mean "you" as a whole. Then you're wrong. Mike's mentioned this site and his LFF nickname many times. If you mean "you" as an individual, then you're right. So according to you nobody can discuss a person who doesn't know they exist? No one can talk about Obama? Kanye West? Lincoln? RG3? Gandhi? Jesus? Hitler? None of these people know we existed. Better call CNN and Fox News and tell them they cannot talk about people they don't know. The shows from now on will be about the anchors and their friends and family members because the fucking retard who isn't capable of even a smidgen of higher thought said so. Seriously dude, you must be fucking dumb as hell if you thought that comment was going to "get us". Blows my mind how stupid people are. I swear we're getting dumber.

You misunderstand. The past 310 pages were meant for you to see because we are gay for you. Rob is much too busy laughing hysterically at everything Mike says, writing Kraft recipes, playing pretend radio, laughing at his own dated and obscure showbiz references and generaly killing laughter to bother with a bunch of malcontents on a local forum. No, we're totally gay for you.

So Mike can sit around all day and download gigabytes of porn, stream countless high-definition Hulu plus and Netflex and have his cable tv blaring in the background, but this same bandwidth just happens to magically dry up when they try and post their show.

Their facebook page is just excuse after excuse, day in day out, about how they can't produce the show. I like how it is always blamed on someone, something, else. Mike is always the victim.

First the "Shit Hut" suffers from bandwidth, now the entire state of Florida.

After four years and they still can't put out a reliable product. What a joke.

So by the sounds of it, someone possibly from here, sent Mike a LENGTHY letter with some healthy criticism of the show, mainly Robb. I believe he said it was around 13 paragraphs long. Wish I could have read it. And it sent Mike into a fit of rage that lasted more than a day. And of course Mike heard none of it. Because he couldn't possibly deal with that fact that something just MIGHT be wrong or needed some change with the show.

He knows that's why renewals are down, but he's too chickenshit to do anything about it because he's too lazy to reign in Robb.

Haven't listened for 4 months. Thought I would give it a try yesterday to see if anything was different for the new year. It sucks even more now. They couldn't even produce their first show yesterday and today they went to birthdays filler material at the 1 minute mark. I turned it off and have no plans on trying to listen ever again.

For a show basically based on judging other's performances, (often in a mean spirited and personal way i.e. Ann Curry) they sure do have trouble accepting any critique when the lens is pointed in their direction.

I'm one of the non-renewals, although I'd subscribed from the first VIP package. The year of blame shifting and hypocrisy and phoning it in and disrespect for fellow cast members (several now former) and indefensible political and legal ravings and disdain for fans and horrible shtick and Mike's unbelievable stupidity and disregard for his own product...

I was a VIPer in 2010 and 2011. In 2012 I purchased occasional bonus shows (probably 1/2 of what they produced). I did not purchase 1 bonus show in 2013.

What did me in was a combination of Mike's political (and extremely hateful) rantings and a plethora of game show themed bonus shows (i.e. phoning it in). The fact that he shat on fellow cast members and blasted any and all fans offering any sort of constructive criticism further justified my decision.

Welcome to the growing club of former LFF fans.

Just to set the record straight, Mike, Carla and baby went to Florida. Robb and Oscar did the show from Va, with Mike skyping in.

Oscar did go down to Florida for a couple of days over the break though -- because they're setting up a new studio in Mike's home there. Made me wonder why Mike needs a new studio at the Florida house. Is he planning on moving there?

Anyway, Mike, Oscar and Robb will be meeting up in Vegas for an appearance there within the week. More drinking and gambling for Mike!!

The letter from the listener sounded like it was respectful, but also critical of the show (Mike never read any of it on the show though). Apparently, there was a lot of criticism of Robb. Mike got really ticked off about the letter and asked the listener not to contact him anymore -- any suggestions the listener made were ignored. (Robb interrupted as much on today's show as he usually does.)

Also, Mike sounded awful on the Skype. Sounded muffled, like he was talking with a towel over the mic.

If LFF is setting up a studio in Florida, I wonder if the "new studio" is code for the 1903 Vic going away. I think LFF is still underwater on it, which would mean a short sale or foreclosure.

Was just on the shows website looking at the prices for bonus content.
A yearly membership is $69.99
A monthly is $6.99
A single episode is $1.99
If you do the math assuming only three bonus shows a month buying the singles is the best deal.
It works out to $5.97 a month (cheaper then the monthly recurring charge) and $71.64 so only a $1.65 more then the yearly subscription but you are not locked in for a year.
I believe as was proven in a post a bunch of pages ago they only average 3 shows a month so why buy the yearly.
The only real difference is you can watch it live, but is that a real selling point?

Just a second thought, do you think the new studio in Florida is where Mike will be living? Maybe Carla has moved on but it was a peacefull separation. She gets the Vic he gets the house in Florida, part of a prenup.

I would love to know what was in the letter although I am sure it has all been said here. Once again, I find it odd that Mike is willing to discuss events that make him seem like a total dick on the Failcast. In this instance, he spent hours on THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS being pissed over a letter from someone who was venting about how bad the show was. If he didn't share stories like this one, though, I would have given up listenting on occassion long ago because, like most of you, I find the full Mike incidents entertaining.

It was obvious in Mikes telling that none of the criticism in the letter regarding Robb had any impact on him at all. It amazes me how, despite all the evidence to the contrary, Mike remains unwavering in his belief that no one brings the funny like Robb. I guess Mike's self image is so invested in Robb's constant validation of everything he does, he can't possibly question Robb's entertainment value because it would bring down the whole house of cards that is TMOS. Robb is like some gay, mincing, Ratsputin character to Mike's Tsar Nicholas and we all know that did not end well.

Kudos to whoever sent the letter. If Oscar had any balls, he would read some of it on the Failcast because he probably agreed with what was said about Robb. We can only hope

Getting angry about a letter like that and dwelling on it is a defensive response. In other words, Mike knows it's true but is trying to rationalize it to be false. If it didn't hit a nerve, Mike would have ignored it. Personally, I don't think Mike believes Robb is funny or an asset to the show. I do think he values Robb's fake validation and also the fact Robb does much of what little prep is done for the show. In other words, if Robb wasn't there, Mike would literally have to "try harder."

Let us pause for a moment and wonder at these assclowns. The show sucks. It sucks huge. How could it suck more?

They've found a way: they take the suckiness on the road. As they the technological skills of rhesus monkeys, none of them are competent enough to produce a decent-sounds show from Manassas. Let's make it sound REALLY awful -- Skype it! Yup, unfunny stuff with miserable production values; winner, winner.

Do we know how many people are still listening to the failcast? LFF reads the total download number at the start of the show and it seems like they have been stuck on 22 million for a LONG time. Even if you give them 23 and divide that by the number of shows, 968, you are looking at less than 24 thousand on average per show. However, that does not include the "bonus" shows that I'm POSITIVE they include in the download number, granted that number can't be more than a couple hundred. Now, I think it is pretty obvious the show is shrinking, so I don't think it is crazy to think they get below 20k per show. Way to go Mike. You used to have millions but the market has spoken and it has said you get 20k now. But yeah Mike, you don't need to change.

You hit the nail on the head.

Mike has to keep telling himself Rob is funny or else he will have to deal with the fact that he killed his own show at WJFK thinking Rob could be an equal replacement for Don.

Mike would probably still be on radio if he had picked someone else, besides Rob to co-host.

Everyone at WJFK knew Mike would be getting the axe from day one after he decided to go with Rob. Why do you think Don only said to Mike "Don't fuck it up"? Why do you think Beth-Ann was living out of a weekly hotel rather than an apartment? The writing was on the wall. It was up to Mike to make the changes and he didn't. Instead he beat up on Beth-Ann and berated her for living in a weekly hotel.

Chad made changes and is still on WJFK.

Mike CAN'T admit Rob sucks because he would have to admit his choice of Rob as Dons replacement killed the Mike O'Meara Show on WJFK.

Rob is a great choice for a fifth chair, background noise player who occasionally gets on the mic. Rob is a horrible choice for second seat.

Mike is living in denial and that is why he goes "Full Mike" when someone points out the obvious.

Ask yourself this, if Mike had left - would Don had promoted Rob to second seat to replace Mike, or would he kept Rob in the back of the studio and brought in a new player of equal talent to replace Mike?

We all know the answer to this.

Mike F'ed up by promoting Rob.

I'll get you full details later this evening, but I asked the same question a while ago and started noting every time they updated the count. I'm positive the numbers are wrong sometimes, because Mike keeps losing the updated sheet (and he needs a physical piece of paper to remind him). The count will go back down after being up for a day or two, and he never notices. Robb sort of pays attention, and usually corrects him.

The clearest trend was after Mike started going on ant-gun and Trayvon rants, it almost completely destroyed the podcast. There's even a brief mention in one episode that Oscar had to give Mike one of his pep talks to save the show.

The was one of those things I alluded to above that led to deciding not to renew my subscription. For all Mike talks about trying harder, he just doesn't. He doesn't even care enough to listen to his own show when Oscar and Robb beg him to, for quality control. He has no idea how many listeners he actually has, or how many downloads, and can't even look up his own numbers.

Who is to say how many downloads there have really been. It's not like it's been independently verified by anyone. Also, a cume number doesn't mean shit to an advertiser. Anyone who has advertised with LFF should measure their investment with a simple metric...did I sell more and if I did, did it bring in more money than I spent on advertising. If the answer is "no" or "not sure," it's a waste of money. Speaking of which, has Kappy sold more Kappy Flakes or whatever, because if she has nothing to sell in the first place, that's the ultimate waste of money.

Downloads mean nothing. Plenty of people download, but how many delete immediately, or never listen? It's a joke and no real company would ever use that metric to advertise with someone.

No, but their self-revealed numbers are all we have to go by, and even those are pretty enlightening, because I don't think they've been intentionally lying about them, just careless. It'll be clear where they may have fudged numbers, and since Mike doesn't care enough to be current, there are big jumps sometimes. You can, however, figure out averages over a given period, and the numbers become more reliable over larger time periods.

I'm just doing some final updates (last time I'd checked numbers was early November) and then making a couple charts. I'd held off posting anything because as soon as they see what those numbers reveal about the state of the podcast, they'll have incentive to withhold or lie, and the data will become less valid.

As it is, the numbers started losing credibility at the end of August, and then became almost completely useless when Mike apparently stopped caring entirely. Robb announced 20M downloads on August 27th, and then Mike keeps waffling between 18M and 20M until September 24th when it becomes stuck on 20M at least through November 8th, when I made my last note. Unfortunately, the data's only as good as Mike's investment in his business.

Probably a lot, and I would have thought the same way until I actually recorded the data. Apparently at least 2/3 of their audience makes specific, intentional downloads (or will deliberately stop automatic downloads), because that was roughly the size of the drop-off in average downloads when Mike began mouthing off about Sandy Hook.

I wasn't exaggerating when I said it almost ended the podcast.

Just remember that Mike likes to lie and exaggerate, a lot. They lied about the State show being sold out and someone on here busted them using their own pictures to show they were really at 49%.

Back when Marc was with them, he stated the daily download was just around 5,000 for what that's worth.

I listened. SO GOOD. If there was ever any question, Mike is getting the message loud and clear. Probably has been for a while. Only difference with this guy's letter is that the stars aligned (holidays, delivered via personal Facebook message, long and extensive well-written..) and this one most likely sunk in. Probably a lot of truths in that letter that were just to hard for Mike to ignore or deny.

Will it make a difference in the way Mike runs his show or his life though? Probably no chance. He's always been the type of guy to just go on the defensive when presented with criticism or the ugly truth of his self-destructive nature.

Rob really is the cement shoes on the "Mike O'Meara Show".

On JFK, all you could do is wonder why the guy got so much mic time. I wasn't a huge D&M guy, so I didn't even know who Rob was. When I checked out the "new" show, I was confused as to why this unfunny person was on the air.

On the podcast it might be even worse. He kills the momentum of anyone else in the studio, except Mike, with his "gems". Get this guy out of there.

As I was getting the last few entries, a couple frustrations. December 16th, the iTunes podcast split into two, an historical version and a "new" version into which all episodes since have gone. However, there are only around 22 of the historical episodes available, not even contiguous, and all the rest have disappeared. What did they do to it?

Also, Oscar gets a lot of flak, but he's easily the smartest member of the show. It's not even close. Just reviewing the opening to Ep. 965, the first of the Christmas Party episodes, Oscar describes the really simple release schedule for the shows (the 23rd, two days of Robb Radio, and then the 26th and 27th), and Mike and Robb not only can't understand what he said, but mock him for being confusing.

All he did was describe THEIR OWN RELEASE SCHEDULE, which Mike and Robb not only didn't recognize but couldn't make sense of, and gave Oscar crap over.

There were 46 total bonus shows in 2013, so buying them individually would cost you $91.54. Like you said, monthly is $83.88, and yearly is $70.

Here's a screenshot of my TMOS 2013 Bonus Shows folder on my computer. Can you tell when I got tired of formatting the meta-data myself and started leaving the files as the crew made them? That was actually when I stopped listening to the bonus shows, but I still downloaded them all before my subscription ran out.

I used to work for a small software company whose customers loved to bitch or make suggestions how to make the software better. You know what we did? We read their complaints and suggestions and calmly discussed them. Even if they were rather critical which some were. I mean only an idiot doesn't listen to his customers right? Obviously you can't let customers run the show but to not weigh their opinions is ridiculous. It really goes to show that Mike is in denial about where he is in life. His unfreinding on facebook that he does and not listening to people suggests he thinks he doesn't need every single person he can get but he does.
