Has RELM actually announced a pay show to address this? They cannot do that, and maintain any credibility.

I really question the pay model for these things. There are plenty of FREE good podcasts. Why would I pay for crap like RELM? A little more tempting to pay for Donnie G, but not really.

I'm listening to the newest MandL...the opener is a lot of movie clips dealing with liars and comebacks. Not sure if they are addressing it this week, though. Probably not.

Google Music All Access costs me 7.99. Netflix is ten bucks. The 20+ podcasts I download on iTunes are free. I just don't see the value in subscribing to the premium shows. I'd love to have Don, Leykis, and Gary and Dino in the rotation, but where's the value?

(Maybe if for one larger fee I got a bundle of Don, Cumia, etc. premium content it would be more palpable. I don't want to have three different podcast subscriptions on my balance sheet.)

I could also see them "taking the high road" and only making off-hand comments to avoid addressing any real issues. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but Don seems to have enough hard evidence to make them look like pathetic amateurs at the very least.

Don loves picking fights and sometimes he wins. RELM is a joke, they couldn't handle Don as a member of the family and no way they'll handle him as an enemy.

It's impossible to listen to Buzz's statements on that Kirk McEwen show with finding him either dishonest or delusional. Why did he think he could get away with those niceties? Even we knew that Don was coming out firing, and Don did so in a more rationed, credible and devastating way than I imagined.

Really odd. Or deceptive. Something.

I can't believe Don't would trash a long time friend like Buzz unless Buzz and RELM really screwed him bad.

You can really hear Don's emotions when he told Buzz never to call him again and when he talked about Rob and Mike.

Glad someone else pointed that out. But of course he has never heard the term "fap" before--(1) it was coined in this century, and (2) it originated from a website other than Facebook.

On another note, I had always assumed that Marc, RJ, and Buzz had all gotten raw deals from TMOS, just based on what assholes Mike and Robbbb are in general. Now after hearing Don's tale about relm, I'm starting to think there was actually a good deal of assholery on both sides.

I was also really struck by Don's belief that neither Mike nor Robbbb would have screwed him over the way Buzz and relm did. I guess what he was saying was that even though they aren't friends any more, and Don had really thought that they were, they were always fair and honest when it came to business. Definitely not the impression I've gotten from them.

Anyone else have a problem with their DGS / RELM Coupon code?

I had tha annual sub with RELM for Don's show.
When I tried to register today on Don's site, it looks like it comes up as a monthly sub and gave me a credit as such.

I didn't re-enter my credit card info and contacted the new DGS folks, thinking it should have shown as an annual sub credit...

Anyone else notice this?

Un real... Someone douche registered "Steve"...

I put in the coupon code, but had to put in a credit card card for it to go through. The balance does go from $9.99 to $0.00 for payment.

My understanding is that once your "free" account is over it automatically takes $$ out of your credit card each month.

I'm not a doctor or a personal trainer, but I would think seated rows are horrible for someone with a bad knee/hip/lower back...Especially if the form is poor and you know it would be....He prolly locks his legs and leans back when he pulls...

I'll trust Don's judgment on this one, especially based on the nature of the relationship. I believe Don even says that Mike's role was to do nothing, business wise. It was a lot of content though, so excuse a mistake.

Mike "talking" about TP's show..." Just an amazing example of what it is to uh, be in this world and to exist in this world of broadcasting and do it with class and dignity, and I'll tell ya something, if you want a primer on uh how real men, who respect each other uh, conduct themselves and have all the fun in the world, poke fun at each other, give each other a hard time, but then really have ,uh nice things to say about working together, funny stories and interesting stories and above that, a behind the scenes look at what it really means to be a Network Anchorman" Is that a ringing endorsement or what?

Speaking of which....I know I touched on it for a second, but are there worse exercises for someone with a bad knee/hip/back than squats and rows?

Thanks for pointing that out. I dismissed it the first time as LFF doing a 'Survey Man' voice, and missed Headdd doing it entirely. Very obvious on relisten.

I'm not a doctor or a personal trainer, but I would think seated rows are horrible for someone with a bad knee/hip/lower back...Especially if the form is poor and you know it would be....He prolly locks his legs and leans back when he pulls...

You are 100% insane if you think the LFF wouldn't do a show with Don.

That would likely result in the LFF making much more $ and doing a bit more work (around the same amount that he did a decade ago).

If EitM is on in the mornings in NYC than radio is in a very sad state.

Picture the D&M podcast (paid of course) where they don't give a single fuck and realize they are 5 (or so) years away from retirement.

It will never happen, but it would be wonderful.

Well, this radio war (or whatever it is) got me to listen again.

Jhop's score:
Don is interesting and worth my time
TMOS made some strange Buzz reference and was lame and not worth my time
MandL haven't listen to it yet, but if Marc hasn't shown up here they will wimp out

Marc isn't coming over here to "set the record straight" JHop...He's a thief and a liar, but he isn't crazy...That slimy MFer would get gutted like a fish...."Marc where did the money go?" "Marc did you ever pay Joe?" "How much was your side deal at Quench?" "Remind me again....How long did that $1200 from Reno sit in a drawer?"

The whole thing is strange to me.

D&M claim they parted on good terms. Cool. So, if that is true, why wouldn't Don call LFF (whom was his partner for many years) and ask him about this intern that was part of the LFF's show that started his own podcast network.

If Don is really LPS's kid's godfather, wouldn't Don have a part in the LPS's life and ask the LPS about Marc?

When Buzz started with Don, wouldn't Don ask him about TMOS and Marc?

It simply doesn't add up. I'm starting to think this is performance art.

I think this happened:
Don gets fired & Buzz and Marc quit / fired from TMOS (I don't remember the timeline)

Marc & Buzz were hitting the bong and thought to add Don to RELM due to him being fired and Buzz called him.

Marc and Buzz pitch the idea to Don. He likes it. Since he knows these guys.

But here is where this breaks down. Don can pick up the phone and get the real story from the LFF or LPS.

Maybe don thinks he is a "Big Man" and doesn't need input, but I doubt that.

Maybe the LFF / LPS wimped out and said Marc is a good guy they just didn't see eye-to-eye.

The entire thing is just strange.

If the LFF told Don that Marc sucked, wy wouldn't Don just go directly to Kappy?

It doesn't add up.

So according to the only person that will talk about it, here's how it went:

Don leftD&M, no contact with any former co-workers until slow Joe got Buzz to call Don around the first of this year, still has had no contact with anyone TMOS related.

I believe Don quit D&M because when Freda died LFF did shit to step up and help him out. Don probably became resentful after carrying Mike for 25 years and getting nothing in return. Think of it as a divorce-type dynamic. If you grew to resent someone so much that you got a divorce, and there were no kids, nobody would consider it strange if you never spoke again.

I haven't listened to Don's rant and likely won't, but I think the answer to jhopkins' question is this: Buzz vouched for Marc. And that was enough for Don. So he feels doubly betrayed.

That said, Don is a pro and should have had a better understanding of what it was he'd be doing, how the $ would be spent and distributed, and the equipment he'd be given.

He was so needy to have a forum to bash KHTK that he jumped right in without proper due diligence.

That is 100% not true. Back in Year 1 of TMOS LFF talked about Don calling and wishing them luck and the LPS says he get Xmas cards from Don and presents for his kid on his bday.

There is clearly comm paths.

Right, cool I agree.

But, if I'm in business with somebody for x years (where x is > 10), I'd call them and ask for the deal.

If I'm the godfather to some dumbass board op, why wouldn't I call him and ask for the details.

I think you all are blind.

This doesn't add up. Don isn't lazy and not dumb. He would call LFF and LPS. He'd get their version of the story. He'd juxtapose against what Buzz and the ex-intern is saying. And Kappy.

I think these are the options:
1) Everybody lied to Don and "took the high road". I don't think this it true due to Don being able to ride the LFF like a bitch.

2) Don didn't call ( / fact check). Sure, ok, maybe, but I don't think that he is that dumb, especially since he'd be able to read Buzz's tone about the LFF

3) There is bad blood and we are being taking for a ride

With all due respect, jhop, you're over thinking it. Don dropped LFF and Rob like the losers they were and wasn't going to break the ice to ask a out Ronick. As mentioned, Don went with RELM because of Buzz. Don probably assumed that since RELM had podcasts they would know how to provide what he wanted, or if not be could just flex nuts and easily get accomendated.

Why would Don ask Mike/Rob - two dummies that he doesn't respect with their operation- for their opinion? Why would that hold any weight for him? Don fancies himself a big shot he figured Buzz, his old buddy, would give him a fair shake and give him the platform he needed.

I wouldn't read much further than that. Don was foolish to link up with Ronick, and probably has a right to be upset with Buzz for leading him into the agreement. At the same time, it's not really on Buzz- with Don's ego/impatience and Ronick's track record of shadiness, a blowup was only a matter of time.

Thank you for contacting support. There was a small glitch in the import which is showing annual subscriber a month subscription; however, this is already known. Don't worry if you have a yearly subscription you have that and should see a change in the upcoming days.

Don bitched about the quality of equipment provided by the CBS Network. Is it any surprise RELM couldn't live up to his standards? Regarding Marc, I don't think you can take Don's version of what happened and leap to conclusions about Ronic's ethics. The issue could be as simple as Don not bothering to understand the economics of a startup. He has spent his whole career working for publicly financed broadcasting companies. Maybe the numbers just didn't work out as hoped. That doesn't mean there was ill intent at play.

Apparently, there are NO downloads of the new Don Geronimo show episodes for subscribers. You can only stream past episodes from the archive section at the website. So you can no longer use iPods or MP3 players to listen to episodes, say when you're exercising. And you can't listen in your car or from your smartphone unless you use your cellphone data, that's if you have a data plan at all. This is going to be a problem for many..

He's scrambling to get his stuff up and running again and he's having to learn this stuff as he goes. I give him credit for honoring people who paid for it at RELM. I honestly believe he's doing the best he can. He's only been live for a few days.

When you listen to Don and Cumia talk podcasting early on, it's clear that they just don't know much about it. Obviously O'Meara was the king of ignorance in this area - he still might not know how to use iTunes. But it ain't all that hard. I feel like a grinder like Santana could've gotten him up and running in his sleep.

It sounds like there was a total lack of understanding about the mechanics of the business and internet broadcasting. Some of this stuff you can learn just from listening to the Carollas, EarWolfs, and Leykises getting started.

ditto...I'll be out as well...If I wanted to be tethered to the internet, I might as well have satellite radio or watch Netflix...

Eventually he'll have to provide downloads for the exact reasons above, people want convienence. I think his main concern on this is the ease of sharing an mp3, and the way RELM's system would allow multiple logins for the live show, he stated that up to 30 people could listen live at the same time with the same login. What he doesn't know yet, and he will hopefully learn soon, is that people who pay for things don't normally give them away unless it's super easy or super hard. Look at it this way, if I can give a bunch of people my login with no inconvienence to me, some people will do that, but if someone else using it at the same time as me prevents me from getting what I want at that time, most people won't. Also, if I have to go to his site and set up my computer to rip the streams just so I can listen whenever I want, then I've put work into the mp3's, they are mine and I'll do whatever I want to with them including giving them away just because the system is such a pain in the ass, again just provide the mp3 and I'll never share anything but a few clips.

So he'll either learn, or lose a lot of subs fast, like as soon as the free period is over. The price is the other thing that will probably keep a lot from reupping next year, naybe he'll figure that out to.

I'll be out as well. I can't imagine they won't "remedy" this issue shortly, though... Too many people complaining about something that is pretty much available with every other podcast, radio show...

Slightly related subject, anyone interested in all of RELM's premium content? I'm uploading it to my cloud tonight and can post links or if you are a DGS sub, there's an easy way to get it.
