On this latest round of weight loss (number 199 I think it is over the last 4 years) Mike promised daily updates on his weight and to have the krew give hma hard time if he did not report it. I believe he back off that statement almost right away and now it's more like once a week, in conversation, if he remembers it.

He then has the gall to tell RJ he's fat because he put on 15 pounds...after losing over 115....

Yes, he will get health care, and it will still cost him, because he'll still be a huge fat load with apnea and highblood pressure. But he'll be able to get it.

So when Obamacare takes effect, if you do not have insurance, you will have to pay a fine of $2000. So, Mike is ok with paying the fine because he does not have insurance, but still wants the Obamacare so he will have insurance. Does he think when 2014 rolls earound everyone just magically gets insurance? I bet he won't get into a program until 2015-2016 and he'll be dead by then anyway...

KHTK is famous for getting rid of on air talent and program directors. It is too bad for Steve Bryant. I thought he was a good addtion to the Don Geronimo show.
Unless you are Grant Napear or Jason Ross, your shelf life be cut short on that station. That is CBS radio for you.

DCRTV is reporting a rumor -- and DCRTV Dave seems to semi-confirm -- that these lugheads may be heading back to the ray-dio. Amazing. Can you imagine being a radio program director, listening to the failcast, and saying, "Whoa, I want those boys on MY station! Particularly the fat one doing Larry King!

Semi-confirm? Oh... That means so if it doesn't happen, Dickhead Dave can say he didn't actually report it. But if it does happen, he'll claim he was first to report it. That guy is such a cunt.

Poor baby.

There's still Limbaugh and Hannity and Fox News. Let them lie to you for a few hours and you'll feel better.

That would be pretty cool if Mike returned the airwaves. Though I wasn't a big fan of the original show after d&m split. He isn't very good at filling 4 hours with interesting content. I became a big fan when he started doing his podcast.

I hope he maintains the podcast (he said he would never give it up but he's a fat fucking hypocrit) so he can bitch about his radio gig. Angry Mike will forever be my favorite "character".

So the Krewe returns to the airwaves...somewhere. Then what? People have prepaid their VIP memberships and were promised content. Mike keeps going on and on about how he loves the podcast format and how he doesn't even like the idea of being on the radio anymore, except he wants to be on the air so bad he can't stand it.

Not sure what station would put them on. Maybe as a morning show....?

A 4 hour show would be a nightmare. Lots of lame interviews and phone scans. Unless another podunk AM station is just going to rebroadcast the podcast. Also, I can't see Oscar leaving his "9 to 5" (as he won't stop calling it) to do a 3-4 hour radio show that would seem to be guaranteed to fail after the first contract period is up. Never forget, the JFK LFF Show was terrible.

O'Meara Returning To Local Radio? - 11/9 - Could DC radio veteran Mike O'Meara be eyeing a return to the DC area (Northern Virginia) radio dial? We're hearing rumblings. More soon. O'Meara was half of the "Don And Mike" team on WAVA and WJFK for two decades. His last local radio gig was doing mornings on now-defunct classic rock 105.9 The Edge, which ended in September 2011, when that signal became a simulcast for news talker WMAL. O'Meara currently does a podcast at mikeomearashow.com

It's the constant, uninformed, knee jerk reaction and painfully obvious "newscasting" (I mean propaganda) that gets tiresome. I vote Democratic, always have, and I am tired of the same old slant, the same old excuses, the same old bullshit from him.

My sincere hope is that most of you conservative voters stay in your FOX NEWS bunker, refusing to hear any "facts" that aren't slanted to your world view.

Simple arithmetic would have told you that Romney was going to lose the election. Nate Silver proved that the numbers strongly favored Obama but the Right Wing Nut Jobs called him a fraud and a partisan hack. They attacked him personally but they failed to dispute his math.

Dick Morris, Newt Gingrich, Karl Rove, Limbaugh, Hannity and all those other clowns kept saying Romney would win and they were all wrong.

Even Mike O'Meara said over and over that Obama was going to lose. Last week, Mike declared that he didn't believe in polls. That's like saying you don't believe in thermometers.

The GOP needs to get rid of their Junk Science, Superstitions, "gut feelings" and Tarot Cards. Math can be their friend, just as it was for the Democrats this time.

say does this mean RJ gets to come back from Siberia or he's yesterdays news and LFF has no use for him anymore?

I used to be HUGE fan of the Don and Mike Show... but I knew Mike was toast a week into his solo radio effort without Don.

As for Don, I live in Sacramento and haven't listed to his show since the first coupla months. Just old and worn and tired.

Unfortunately, I think these two guys are slipping steadily on the downside and it's kind a sad.

If Mike gets a radio gig, it's because somebody has hole to fill and need to fill it cheap. Mike ain't getting cash thrown his way.

I wish Mike well with the new radio gig. He's a jackass sometimes but everybody needs a job and his success is also good for Robb, Buzz, Marc and Oscar. Families to support, etc.

Unfortunately, I still don't think Mike has come to terms with his shortcomings as a broadcaster.

Don, during the famous D&M meltdown, criticized Mike for not caring about what was going out over the air. Like most DJ's, Mike loves the sound of his own voice. But he keeps forgetting that good radio needs content.

Listen to the election night show that Buzz and crew did. Mike kept interrupting Buzz but he had nothing to add to the discussion.

The show moved surprisingly well until Mike started coming into the room and taking over. He didn't seem to realize that this wasn't his show. Buzz was the host. But Mike had to impose himself so that the audience didn't forget who was really the boss.

Their was a surreal moment near the end. Mike acted like an announcer who was desperately padding, but why? They could have ended the show at any time. They weren't filling a time slot. So we got Mike, semi-sober, repeating, "Don't GLOAT!" over and over in different incarnations, as if he was talking to an idiot who couldn't understand that simple message.

He's picked up another bad habit lately; reading from his own Facebook posts. He uses a tone that betrays his high opinion of the wisdom within. Someone should tell him that you shouldn't do that when you're quoting yourself.

If he'd listen to his shows even once I think he'd develop a little moderation but he's rarely self-critical enough to work on any of these skills. In his pickled little brain, he's already the master of the airwaves.

He doesn't have to deal with criticism at all at this point. Marc censors any post on the website that isn't completely sucking up, he un-friends and blocks people on facebook when they don't agree with him. So I'm sure things are going to go well when he's dealing with a program director trying to steer the show in the right direction when ratings start falling.

DCRTV is hearing rumblings on Facebook today that DC radio veteran Mike O'Meara could be returning to the area radio dial via Metro Radio talker WTNT, 730 AM/102.9 FM. We do know that Metro Radio head Bruce Houston and O'Meara have been talking about a possible evening slot. Filling the space formerly occupied by Michael Savage, who stopped airing on WTNT after his TRN syndication deal ended earlier this fall. But, so far, no confirmation of any deal between WTNT and O'Meara. As soon as we hear anything we'll let you know.....

More questions than answers. Will it be like the TMOS show that was on JFK? Will this be like the podcast? How many hours would he have to fill? Would the whole krewe go with him? Would he spout how much he loved being back on the radio the first day and curse the podcast? Would the podcast continue?

If you were to take him at his word (which would be a foolish thing to do), he won't stop doing the podcast. It could be like the failed Edge experiment, maybe they'll stick him with a wacky co-host. I can't fathom a program director wanting to bring in the entire fail krewe. The whole "Morning Zoo at Night!" thing never seemed to gain much traction. WTNT is about as bottom of the barrel as stations get though (3rd from last it looks like), so maybe it would be a good fit, even if all the other shows are conservative talk and LFF is poop jokes and complaining.

Boy, I didn't think there could be a way to reach FEWER people, but WTNT may be it.

Also, they won't drop the failcast if they're on TNT. TNT won't remotely pay enough. They'll still be broke, but they'll have more "work" to do. Oh, man, a mid-day failcast for LFF, and THEN an evening show?

Airing on powerhouse AM 730 WTNT will get O'Meara a #1 demo - security guards dozing at dozens of suburban jobsites.

It's a dual-eged sword tho' since most of the security guards don't speak English, the O'Meara night-time zoo krewe hilarity will go sadly unnoticed.

Outside of DCRTV, where does this nonsense qualify a "news" on any level?

This can't be a positive move for O'Meara who is reached radio rock bottom just a few years after being a featured playa @ JFK.

This is nirvana for Blob(b) - who is now on two (count em!) radio stations - he rules the airwaves in Ioway and he'll be the king of the 0.X - rated stations in DC.

Quite the resume boys!

DCRTV has reported rumblings that DC radio veteran Mike O'Meara (right) could be returning to the area radio dial. Now, we get confirmation that he will be starting a 7 PM to 9 PM show come January 14th on Metro Radio talker WTNT, 730 AM/102.9 FM. O'Meara will be joined by his longtime WJFK and, later, mikeomearashow.com podcast crew of Robb Spewak, Buzz Burbank, and Oscar Santana. "The success of their podcast was a significant factor in their return to the airwaves, along with the amazing loyalty of their many listeners," according to a Tuesday press release from O'Meara's camp. "Those listeners have, in equally impressive numbers, demonstrated their loyalty by spending heavily with Mike O'Meara show advertisers." One of the show's advertisers, Oncor Insurance, has agreed to underwrite the broadcast's production costs, and continues to underwrite the show's special projects, including the recent, sold-out live stage show at Circus-Circus in Reno. Metro Radio CEO Dave Houston said, "We are truly excited to acquire such a popular and successful show. We see it as a fresh, new addition to our lineup." O'Meara fills the space formerly occupied by Michael Savage, who stopped airing on WTNT after his TRN syndication deal ended earlier this fall. O'Meara's last DC area radio gig, doing mornings at classic rocker 105.9 The Edge, ended in September 2011, when that station flipped to a simulcast of news talker WMAL.....

So, wait. Oncor will underwrite the production of the show? So they're buying time the air-time, right?

What about poor Marc? RJ? They better keep doing the fraudcast if they want to make money. When this radio gig dies, what next?

Does anyone think they will actually go to a studio, or just broadcast from the living room?

It's all still done in LFF's living room. They said there is an extra studio "they can play with", but I'm sure it doesn't have a bunch of HD cameras to broadcast their fat bald heads. And Mike would have to walk to his car instead of just his couch, so I don't expect that'll happen. Does TNT even have regular advertisers? With a right wing slant, few listeners, and a terrible signal, I can't imagine it being on the list of many ad companies. Maybe Civil War Plates or something. Knife of the Month club.

Just to clarify. If you listened to yesterday's show, they laid it out clearly. It will be the same show they currently record. But with commercial breaks and news at the top of both hours, the podcast will be stretched to fit that 7-9pm timeslot. They did say that there might be an extra 5-10 minutes added to the podcast to make it fit the 2 hour slot just right. So they won't actually ever be in studio, or producing extra content.

So it's essentially the same thing they currently do with KCJJ in Iowa. Nothing changes, and nobody will listen to a shitty radio broadcast of something that you can download for free with no commercials and a clearer sound. But they certainly seem pumped for this??????

So it'll be the almost incessant ads in the podcast PLUS real ads in the breaks.

Broadcast at night on a station that powers down at night so no one will hear.

As previously mentioned, Oncor is underwriting the show, so I think that's more or less a yes. If you have a good broadcasting product, you don't usually have to bring your own advertisers with you to get on the station.

When you peel back the layers of this, it is, yet again, a sad O'Meara tale. Having a sponsor pay for a show to go onto the radio (I won't call it a radio show) so you can get the air-time, For how long? When will Oncor pull the plug? What will you do when this fails? Is this really the big radio break you were looking for, or is this simply "a way back in". It's sad.
