In his weekly syndicated column, Scott Rasmussen shows how polling data suggests Santorum may be more of a challenge for Romney than earlier "flavors of the month" like Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain. Santorum leads Romney 42% to 24% in Ohio and by three in Michigan. On a national basis, it’s Santorum 39%, Romney 27% with Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul far behind.
Rasmussen Reports will release new data on the Arizona primary at 10:00 a.m. Eastern.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve.
Overall, 48% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) at least somewhat disapprove.
