Very true. Watching lacrosse live can be fun. Baseball is lame.

Baseball is the WORLD until you play lacrosse.

I have kids, so baseball is probably the best live sporting event I have taken them to because of the low cost and the fact you really don't have that many drunk and obnoxious fans around (though there are some). I like live hockey, but it gets really expensive taking the family. Nobody in my family is really into basketball, and I only have a passing interest in March Madness depending on who is making a run (Mason, when they went to the Final Four, for example). Been to a couple of Wizards games back when there were good, but even at the cheap prices they charge now, not sure I would really want to go.

Luckily this area is great for both. Nats tickets are cheap and so are UMD and JHU lax tickets(not to mention other great lax teams-loyola, umbc, towson). Georgetown is great for home games...The women are on point.

I was at the Wizards/Clippers game on Saturday, man did they get hammered by a superior team.

Hard to keep up with hoops when your home team is so unorganized, but basketball's at least exciting to watch live. Look out for the Clippers, I can say that much.

I've watched them on TV a few times. I do think Wall and Vesely have potential. McGee can be worked with. I don't understand what Grunfeld was thinking with Blatche. I guess he figured he needed to sign a deal with a locker room cancer to replace the locker room cancer know as Gilbert Arenas when he left.

Be sure to avoid going to games when the 76ers, Knicks, or Celtics come to town. It will be hard figuring out if you are at the Verizon Center or at MSG...

That's how the Nats have traditionally been. I remember going to a game against the Cincinnati Reds, of all teams, and the stadium was packed with Reds fans.

Leonsis needs to ditch Grunfeld and start over.

Keep Wall, maybe Nick Young, and on a stretch, McGee (if you're desperate). The rest of the team can be replaced. Blatche is a wash.

If they had a dude like the Clip's Blake Griffin, a dominate presence inside, the Wiz could turn shit around.

I haven't seen much of the Wizards this year, but what I saw of Vesely he seemed like he has potential. Maybe I haven't seen enough of him if you think he sucks that bad.

As for Ernie, I agree entirely. The guy has made some really horrific personnel/contract decisions in DC in recent years.

The most depressing time of the year is after the NBA and NHL seasons are over. All we are left with is baseball, Tour de France, and soccer. It's enough to make a grown man cry.

When referring to cheap tickets at Maryland do you mean LAX tickets?
The ticket price for Maryland Basketball is $50 a pop plus parking. That's an ouch for me. Usally just go to 1 or 2 games a year and with Gary Williams gone just haven't had the gumption to go this year. Go to GMU ball games instead at $16 a ticket and is a pretty decent team. Larranaga left behind 3 decent seniors.
It's pretty obvious too me Hewitt is definitely not the X and O coach Larranaga is so Hewitt better be a decent recruiter to continue GMU success into the future.

I like watching college baseball myself.

Nats pitchers and catchers report in 10 days. Don't be so cheap. Fly the family down to Viera. Games start right around the first of March. Nothing like Florida sunshine this time of year.

re: the Reds overload.........this year the Nationals are trying to do damage control over Stan Kastens legacy of selling out whole games to Philly fans.

I doubt they stop it completely but they're doing their best to build interest in the team and and push back on Philly.

I really wish someone could create a successful spring/summer football league. I know the UFL and XFL have already failed at that, but I still think there's a market.

Even mediocre football is better than the NBA and MLB, right?

The Lingerie football league should play in the spring not the fall!
