Nope, sorry. My graduate degree from a top ranked university felt completely underutilized listening to his elementary level rhetoric. I actually felt like I was getting less intelligent listening to his speech. It was like I was transported back to Middle School and listening to school assembly speeches.

Ohh, completely dismissing the obvious fact that the speech was either written by people with only an 8th grade writing level or was intentionally dumbed down to people with an 8th grade comprehension level. If you are the type of person that the speech writers intended to persuade, then writing it at an 8th grade level makes complete sense. IN fact, all of Obama's SOTUs have been at the 8th grade level which is 2 levels down than all his predecessors over the past 70 years.

Have you ever noticed Hannity/Levin/Rush all articulate their message at about a fourth grade comprehension level? (My fifth grade son was listening to Hannity on the radio a few weeks ago and said "that's illogical, it's called framing the argument.").
Listen to Gingrich or Romney; they communicate using almost no intellect.
"I believe in an America where millions of Americans believe in an America that’s the America millions of Americans believe in. That’s the America I love." Mitt Romney, last week.
In speaking to the masses effectively, you must articulate at a low intellectual level (no big words, no obscure comparisons, etc.) in order for your message to reach and be understood by the widest possible audience.

level. It makes sense for President Obama to give a speech using
language that is easily understood by the greatest number of viewers.
