There are a lot of smart and highly accomplished people in this area, and a few may just happen to use this site.
I was thinking about Ionocraft, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them? I also had questions for anyone well versed in nuclear power. I specifically was wondering if neutrons released during fission and their subsequent decay could be used to both ionize gases in the environment, and provide released H+ to act as an Anode in a battery system to directly create electrical power rather than just heat. In addition, I was wondering if any released alpha particles could be contained magnetically to keep them in their Ionized states and used as a mass for propulsion. Lastly I know that a super-conductive material like Iron-based superconductors will prevent penetration by weak magnetic fields, but does anyone know what constitutes a weak magnetic field. I know that these are really weird questions and I am probably coming at them wrong but I was looking for help and I don't know of any science message boards that aren't member based, really pretentious, or overly technical.

Sorry, just saw your non-member-based condition. You should join, though. Nonexistent spam mail. Incredibly useful and interesting information and people.
