Prediction Day,,,

I dread prediction day,,,

Somehow I'm gonna have to come up with a plausible scenario were the Redskins can win the game,,,

The Dolphins are terrible at home,,,

Gano kicks 6 field goals,,,

Redskins 18

Dolphins 17

I'm also working on a Mission Impossible 12 script,,,

NY Giants v San Francisco

I think the Giants are tough enough to rough up the 49ers and get them out of their game,,,

Giants 24

49ers 17

Philly v Arizona

If Philly figures out a way to lose this game, Andy Reid shouldn't even be allowed back on the team plane,,,

Eagles 56

Cardinals 3

Dallas v Buffalo

Hate to say it, but I think Dallas will beat Buffalo easy,,,

Cowboys 31

Buffalo 17

Even if the Redskins lose, they're not gonna move up in the draft order unless Carolina wins,,,

Rex Grossman is taking snaps with the first team this week,,,

Draw your own conclusions,,,

Something tells me that Shanny Jr. sold Shanny Sr. a bill of goods on Sexy Rexy. The fact is Shanny Jr. doesn't have the experience to assess a good QB versus a dud (see Josh McDaniels and Two-Pass Tebow). It has dawned on Shanny Sr. that his son can't assess talent worth shit and is even worse at play-calling, yet Shanny Sr. was such a dick to this kid growing up (never being home, placing more value in John Elway than in his own kid) that he is hard-pressed to tell him to pack it up.

If the rest of the season will be like today, and I have no reason to doubt it wont be, both Shanahans will be out of here at the end of the year.

His fourth quarter clock management is beyond belief. This isnt even acceptable in high school much less the NFL. I cant believe he is that stupid. He has to know and he has a full coaching staff behind him that should be telling him if he isnt aware.

Are we to believe that the talent on the team is so bad we can't be competitve against the worst teams in the league?

I don't believe it,,,there is enough talent to work with on offense and the defense has played well despite being hung out to dry by the offense,,,

Freakin DENVER has 4 wins! Tebow completed 2(!) passes and Denver found a way to win,,,

Coaching has to be the focus of the blame,,,just as I would blame Philly's problems on bad decision making too,,,

I thought they might beat the Seahawks, until the Seahawks opened a can of whoop-ass on the Ravens. I really think the Skins could go the rest of the season without winning another game.

On the plus side, based on what Hatemotor wrote, it's entirely possible the Dolphins will win enough games to be out of the Luck sweepstakes. The coach won't be there next season and the owner has been a prick to him, so there's really no incentive for him to leave the Fins in a position to draft high.

People think it's a given the Colts will pick Luck, but I wouldn't underestimate the pull of Peyton Manning in that place. Everyone expected Favre to be a standup guy, too, when his time came. Look what a prick he turned out to be. Not every QB has the grace and class of Kurt Warner. It's entirely possible the Colts will either pass on Luck or use him to negotiate a shitload of draft picks to help make the Colts younger (and we know how Danny Boy likes to squander draft picks on big-name duds).

Denver has those wins because John Fox said, "Fuck it. I'll run a college offense if I have to."

Shanny Jr. is still trying to run his deep-pass offense without the QB, receivers or protection to make it work. It seemed like every third down Grossman was buried by the fucking blitz because he HAD NO PROTECTION.

There are a bunch of ways to manage the pass rush when you have a bad o-line, and Shanny Jr. implements NONE of them.

Then again it wouldnt be the first time a highly prized QB draft pick turned into a dud. Meanwhile I think Tom Brady was a sixth round pick. College and the pros are like night and day. Some guys just fall apart in the pros.

Why should someone just give up their job and step aside if they still want to play.

Bottom line the Colts arent passing up on Luck unless some tragic injury happens. They will either take him since Mannings return is in a lot of doubt or use him as leverage. Either way Luck is going #1.

The only team there would be any question would be if the Rams get it and again they would probably leverage him and some rumors even say they would take him and trade Bradford.

"every third down Grossman was buried by the fucking blitz because he HAD NO PROTECTION"

Then you change the play at the line and run a timing route and hopefully the receiver is where he is supposed to be. The blitz is great when it works but if you get a pass off look for a major gain in yardage.
But to be honest I dont think Grossman or Beck know how to read a defense.

There was one play where Grossman approached the line and watched as two Miami players were about to walk off the field. A QB with even half a brain would have called the snap and gotten a free play for Miami having too many players on the field. Grossman held up the call to give them time to get off the field.

I think most Redskins fans expect the team to somehow end up with 5 or 6 wins and go into year three of the Shanahan era looking for a QB in the draft to build around,,,,

But what if the Redskins lose 12 straight? What would be the repercussions,,,

Does Shanahan get fired?

Kyle?

Does Dan take away Shanny's power to make decisions and bring in a real GM to guide the franchise and make the key decisions?

Just don't see Dan sitting still if that happens,,,

Thats entirely possible.

The remaining games are
Dallas
Seattle
Giants
Jets
Pats
Vikings
Eagles

Pats and Jets can just go ahead and put up the L for those games right now. Seattle may be a win but they just beat baltimore so its by no means a gimme. They have a losing record in the division already and will lose 2 of the 3 division games left if not all 3. Vikings could go either way but again no gimme and I predict a loss.

At best theyre looking at probably 2 more wins and really the best thing they could do is just lose out and get the best pick possible.

Luck is definitely the best QB and was even training Alex Smith in the offseason. Barkley is good himself, but again with their wrs and oline Barkley will struggle under the current system. Really Im not sure plugging Luck in right now would even make them a contender at the moment

And that speaks to the hart of the problem. Everyone would rather just sit around fluffing each other then to admit that the team is bad and they need to fix it. Theres nothing wrong with saying we need to rebuild give us a couple seasons like the Bills, Lions, Tampa, Browns ect. People would be a lot less angry hearing the truth

The heart of the problem is that the hard working "real Redskins" like Rock Cartwright and Mike Sellers get paid shit and treated worse while the "bad boys" of the team...Portis, Haynesworth, Hall, etc...get to hang out with Danny Boy and drink Scotch and smoke cigars and bitch about the coaching staff behind their backs.

Thats true, but that sort of incestual attitude that got Marty fired is why that occurs. Instead of valuing guys over their play on the field and getting more talent like that, they make decisions on a personal level that often times leave other teams scratching their head. Or the guys with talent get so disgruntled they leave as soon as they can aka Carlos Rodgers.

It seems like the occasional highlight play is valued much more over continuous solid play, or good play that doesnt make ESPNs top 10 plays

Yep. Plus he's 35 coming off major neck surgery. Sounds perfect for the Skins!

The Colts have until Feb to take on Manning contract for 2012. If they opt out, anyone can sign Manning as a FA without giving up picks. If the Colts do take on Manning's contract and draft Luck, they will take less in trade for Manning. Less than Palmer trade probably.

I think it's a lot of hot air but Shefter is close to Shanny so there could be some truth to it. That or it's a smoke screen to try and guage what the Colts plan for the future, how serious they are about drafting Luck, etc.

Well, the Skins have no running game or pass defense, so they are similar to the Colts on that front.

This has been very humorous to watch and to listen to stations like WTOP. Fans were saying "playoffs, playoffs, playoffs" and "super bowl, super bowl" after game three.

They are not saying anything like that now.

Fact of the matter is you have a miniature Caesar/Nero who holds the keys to the franchise. Until Nero is deposed, expect exceptional mediocrity.

Drug testing, HM....I'm a firm believer in it.

Do you believe honestly in your heart that Allen is even allowed in the room while Danny picks any of the players?

Three days before the Cowboys game and all the talk is about Shanahan's future as Redskins coach,,,

The crux of the speculation ismthat Kyle is gonna get fired and Shanny's gonna quit,,,,

Possibly this scenario is being put in place because a new coach is already on Dano's radar,,,

And that is of course John Gruden,,,

I think Kyle needs to move on, but starting over again already with Gruden might not be any better,,,

Cowher has basically told all crappy teams not to consider him, he's looking for a team with an established QB and a chance to win,,,he's talking about Philly of course,,,

And I don't really want Andy Reid unless he's willing to be our new OC under Shanny,,,

Where is "all the talk" you refer to coming from? The only people spouting that sort of nonsense are idiots. None of the scenarios you mention are anywhere near realistic. The Shanahans' are not going anywhere. Get a grip people!

nfl.com, washington post, espn.com "insider blogs" that are linked to the fan's website,,,

Some "sources" (players) are saying there is a lot of pressure coming down from the Dano,,,

And we all know how patient he is,,,,

I think the Redskins should probably keep Shanny, but if Kyle gets fired I can definately see Shanahan resigning,,,

Then what?,,,

Blocked. Tho I think I've seen it and it was funny the first time, two years ago.

The video clip clearly shows that Zorn knows football very well. It also clearly shows he hasn't "lost the team" as some in the media like to infer in order to sell newspapers and ads.

If you can't see that I can't help you.

Yeah, I was wrong about Zorn. I liked the guy and wanted him to do well. Still do. I think he was mistreated. I liked Patrick Ramsey too, what does that tell you?

Still, the media drums up so much crap that has no basis in reality that it's really pathetic. Seems you fall for it every time though, hook, line and sinker.

Then you go spouting off this nonsense as if it were fact. Here is a nice example…

What's worse, you want it all to be true because you root for the team’s demise. Who the hell spends so much time following a team they hate? WashingTone-Loser, that's who! ;)

My predictions are based on past performance. What on Earth would make you think Shanahan can last five years here?

For what it's worth, I know someone at Redskins park. I've also met Bruce Allen on a number of occasions and Shanahan is a long term plan.

Now, if next year is another stinker, 3 win season or whatever, it could be over. However, I don't think it will be.

Hatemotor-

You do realize the Skins have only scored more than 22 points once this season...in the season opener against the Giants. Given how bad the offense is, how injured the team is, I sincerely doubt they will score 24. Not saying beating the Cowboys is impossible, but even if they do, I would be shocked if they score more than 17 points doing it.

Agreed, sadly... records and all tend to mean shit when we play the cowgirls but I will be shocked if we win and/or even score a td. Hate I'll be at the game tomorrow, I'll push a Dallas fan down the stairs for you.

As much as it pains me to say, I'm gonna go with
Dallas 24
Skins 6

Skins have the worst offense in the NFL and I can't see them actually scoring a touchdown. As soon as another team scores over 16 points, the Skins are done.

Nevertheless,

i was the one who made it!

So the the Bills shut us down. The Cowboys torched the Bills for 44 points.

I know in sports that just because C>B and B>R that does not mean that C>R but do we have any chance tomorrow?

The Skins aren't going anywhere this year but it would be nice to get a win just so I don't have to listen to Cowboy fans from Centreville calling into 106.7 and 980 all week.

Well I really hope the Redskins pull off a win today.

But if they don't, the next best thing would to see them loose like 50-3. If they're gonna get pasted, let's see something like the Eagles vs Redskings on MNF last year that inspired Chad Duke's epic rant or the way they lost to the Patriots a few years back.

Nothing is more boring to me than to watch them get beat 14-6.
