Deer ticks are killing kids in Virginia.
What will it take to keep us safe in Fairfax from the deer/dog tick bites population. Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is in Fairfax.
I am so mad that the county does nothing to prevent this. I have at least 8 deer in my yard each day.
What can I do?

Get you some guinea fowl and let them run around your yard. They love ticks.

If you walked ole guinea fowl around on leash with you instead a tick infested dog 8 years ago with you wouldn't had a problem.

WTH? Are you living under a rock? The county has been doing hunts to reduce the deer population for some time now. Perhaps you should eliminate the plants in your yard that deer really like, like azaleas. CHances are you've planted stuff that they prefer and are attracting them.

telling somebody to plant stuff deer dont like is akin to turning one's yard into a beach. deer eat anything and everything they can get their tusks on. of course, planting hosta or tulips ( AKA deer lollipops ) is asking for it....
the deer have stripped everything in my yard, the exception being weeds, all the way down to gnawing on the yews i have....which IIRC, are toxic. if only they had an appetite for that shitty johnson grass/japanese stilt grass whatever it is that's now taking over everywhere.
