Opening of this place can't be good news for State Theatre in Falls Church. Several of these acts have appeared at State in the past. blondie,psyhc furs, i think cheap trick
live nation will outprice the state for most acts

Their competition will be the 9:30 Club and because it will also host comedy acts, The Warner Theatre. If you don't believe me about the 9:30 Club, ask yourself why Seth fought so hard to have this place not be built.

I thought Live Nation was sole booker for Warner Theatre? Have they given it up with opening of Filmore?
except for Moby most of these acts probably wouldn't go to 930 club would they?
well maybe Psych furs and Tom Tom club but they don't seem to discriminating were they play
didn't think State theatre was any big competition for a Filmore but just see the opening of this place as a death knell for State maybe. being in Fairfax would prefer venues closer to home than hauling ass all the way to silver spring on the dreaded beltway
must be getting to old. use to go to merriweather a lot in my youth but now first thought is always about the fucking traffic

Everyone around here knows Seth, or knows who he is. Seth is not publicity shy.
BTW, I haven't talked to Seth in over 15 years, and If I wanted to name drop, I could do a lot better than Seth.
