I actually don't have anything against Dan Savage personally. He's always seemed intelligent, well-spoken and non-inflammatory. It speaks well of him that he immediately retracted the statement. This thread has more to do with the media--who, if a Republican had said that about Democrats would have been frothing like a raccoon with rabies to skewer that person with professed moral indignation. The fact that his fellow liberal panelists SAID NOTHING!!! Imagine if Rep. Issa had said that on that show. Bill Maher would have taken him to task. The MSM has said not a word about this. If it had been Laura Ingram, you can guarantee that NBC would be screaming the news.
Does anyone really not see the double standard?
