where is your dad right now and what is he up to?



there's something about "dad" that's just.....I don't know......magical. When I was a boy, I would get up, go to school, come home, have a bowl of cereal, watch reruns of Gilligan's Island on Channel 20, and at 6:00pm, "dad" would come through the front door. It was, without a doubt, the most exciting part of my day. "Dad" rarely played with us, he wasn't much for conversation, and he couldn't cook like mom could, but he was always there, everyday, at 6:00pm. I never knew what "Dad" did for a living.......never understood it, really.....all I knew was that "Dad" wore a suit and tie everyday, always smelled like aftershave, and went downtown every morning to do "Dad" stuff. "Dad" was never "there" for us the way mom was......but "being there" was never really "Dad's" job. "Dad" was like a rock. You could always depend on him to be there. I know "Dad" was in the Vietnam. He almost never talked about it, but I often would try to picture "Dad" marching through the jungle, with a rifle in his hands.......I could never envision it, though. Somehow, "Dad" just seemed like too much of a "Dad" to be an army man, like one of my little green army men that I played with. But, that was "Dad". "Dad" did stuff that all "Dads" have to do.........he was a rock..........that was "Dad".

I didn't get along with my dad until after my parents divorced. I never understood that...

well, I guess I was lucky. I had a great Dad and a great Mom. Couldn't have asked for better. They really are my heroes. I'll never be able to repay them.

"Dad" used to be a near mythical figure in our society.....you were afraid of him, but you respected him. He brought home the bacon. He slayed the dragon. Now, "Dad" is a joke in every dumb commercial you see, on every sitcom....."Dad" is portrayed as a loutish buffoon.....someone to be laughed at, like a clown. Let's bring back the "Dad" of the 50's. The "Dad" who showed his love by going out and killing himself at work everyday so you could live comfortably, because that was more than enough.........not the "Dad" who now has to go to every one of your stupid soccer games, babysit, cook, clean.......that's not "Dad". That's what "Mom" is for.

Let's bring "Dad" back in America.

But I bet he used to touch your willey, your special place alot. Maybe that's it, it is finally surfacing, the motivation behind the Miz persona. A guy that spends as much time on FFXU as he does cannot conceivably be any organization's Dad of the Year. I think some prisoners spend more time with their kids and take more of an interest in their kids than WTL does. Honestly, if it weren't for his wife, those kids would be complete fuck-ups.

from what i hear he is a very "hands on" dad....

WTL strikes me as a Mr Cunningham of "Happy Days" type of Dad.
