getting a ticket for avoiding a stop light.

i didnt even think there was a law in fairfax about "avoiding" a stop light until i got a ticket for it. I was pulling into starbucks and when i pulled out i got pulled over and was charged with the bull shit of avoiding a stop light. When i went to court next week i pleaded not guilty. It turns out avoiding a stop light isnt a crime unless you plead guilty to it. so if you ever get pulled over for some kind of shit like that? dont plead guilty.

It's a law made to keep assholes from cutting through gas station (or other) parking lots and killing little kids.

I love seeing jerks get tickets for it.

It applies to any access.

I've personally seen a kid get hit in a Chevron lot about 8 years ago by one such asswipe who just couldn't wait the exta 15 seconds that the light stayed red.

And he acted like it was the kid's fault (he was standing right next to his mom).

Go figure.

So you're saying that there is no law on the books for this act and that the judge made up a law (as well as precedent for any similar future acts) just because you chose to plead guilty? That is some of the most immature, asinine logic that I have seen in a long time. I'm also pretty sure that you're full of shit about stopping at the Starbucks. You didn't stop, you didn't buy coffee and you DID pull through the lot in an effort to avoid a stop light. You got caught so shut up and take it like a man.
