What's troubling is that the pre-WWII mindset is still very prevalent in Germany.

There are certain times in history when an evil person must be taken out and this was one of them. Bringing that flea bitten murderer here or anywhere for a trial would have been a joke and made him more of a hero to the extremists than he is now.

Ironic the Germans are being so critical considering their history of "Just following orders".

Trying to capture Bin Laden alive presented certain risks for the SEAL team. He could have been booby trapped. Also, his capture could have resulted in greater resistance as the SEALs tried to leave the compound.

It is an absurd notion that the SEALs should have been at greater risk of taking a bullet to keep this fucker alive. Frankly, if they had bent him over the bed, stuck an apple in his mouth and fired an RPG up his ass, I would have been perfectly fine with it.

Here is what I want to know: Two UH60s were used to bring the teams in - apparently 25 people. One of them suffered a mechanical and had to be destroyed.

That means they had to stuff 25 fully loaded assault team members, computers, files, laptops, and one 6' 4" dead body into a single UH60 for the return leg. Can you say "tight quarters"??? Also wonder how the fuel consumption was redone with double the weight.

My bet is that "resisted" meant he didn't put his hands up when the assault team members yelled "put your hands up" - in English. No comply leads to "tap tap", and its all dark.

Where are you getting the two helicopter figure? The stories I've read said 3 or 4.

From off-the-record briefings quoted by The Washington Post and Time magazine, it seems that the raiding party flew to and from Abbottabad via Bagram airbase in Afghanistan in two helicopters, described as Black Hawks in these accounts. The helicopters might have originated from the USS Carl Vinson operating in the North Arabian Sea, to where Bin Laden’s body was removed for analysis and subsequent burial at sea.

Of course I am now seeing that two CH46s were also around. One of them could easily have handled all 25 on its own.

more than I'd blame Americans for whatever kinds of useless politically
