How many times do you re-use a towel; never?
Posted by: RogerPenske ()
Date: April 13, 2011 10:23AM

My girlfriend thinks I'm a typical slob bachelor. After taking a shower, I re-use my towel probably 3 or 4 times. She says that's bad hygiene, says when you dry off, you rub the towel against/in "unmentionable" places. Then, when the towel is drying over the shower rod those areas of the towel "fester." Then, the next time you dry yourself you might rub your face with those festered areas.

But I've been doing this for a long time and don't think I've done myself any damage. Plus, when I take a shower, those "unmentionable" places get cleaned.

Gods forbid you use a clean towel to dry clean water off your clean body more than once.

I dry clean my towels. Yep. One use each, and right its back to the cleaners with those filthy cotton cesspools. Nothing but the finest for this boy.

You are clean when you get out of the shower.

You are using the towel to absorb water from your hopefully clean body.

The towel then dries when you hang it.

If all of the above are true, you should be able to reuse the same towel forever, but I would wash the towel after 4-5 uses anyway. If haven't scrubbed your ass and your sack with anti-bacterial soap, maybe there is a problem your girl sees that the rest of us are missing.

Are you a big fatty with lots of folds -n- flaps?

I could see that being a problem if so,

Towels are time-consuming. I just get out of the shower and immediately put my clothing on and go to work. It kinda sucks in the winter, but it does save alot of time.

She's a woman, she should shut the fuck anyway unless she's asking him what he wants to eat or talking nasty in the sack.

I am with graymoose on this one. She bleeds out of an orifice once a month and she wants to get on you for cleanliness?!? Fuck that shit!!! Tell her if she does not like your towel, then you will roll it up and whip snap her in the ass.

Wow she is worried about using a towel for a few days in a row - wait till she gets a load of babies! The little monsters are literally a font of yuck. If she doesnt have the stomach to *gasp* use a towel twice she will faint the first time she changes a diaper.

BTW, teach her how to properly clean her nether-regions - sounds like she does not do an adequate job if funk is coming off on her towel after she showers. Also ask her to consider how wasteful it is to wash seven towels a week per person. My family of four would go through 28 bath towels a week.

If you really want to freak her out mention to here that the shoes you both use to walk on the street and in public restrooms carry all that into your home and it ends up on the floor that her poor bare feet touch when she walks from the shower to the bedroom.

Using bleach when you wash your towels will give you a few days of use,,,they stay damn near sterile for a week,,,

And if your girlfriend wants you to use a new towel every time you bathe, just bathe once a week,,,that will more than likely lead to a compromise

I usually change my towels when they get a mildew stench or the towel has faint black spots, usually they get that way after the third or fourth week of use.

Use a blow dryer to dry off, it feels great around the genitals.

I use the same towel for a week or so, depending on conditions, I change during the warmer months frequently due to mold and mildew potential growth on towels which are damp, I don't relish the idea of spores all over me.

Laundry day is Saturday, so I use my towel for one week. However, we have more than one set so it's not the same one over and over and over.

The key to towel-reuse is not to hang it in the bathroom to dry or it will get that stinky mildew smell. Dry it on something in the bedroom like a bed post or other appropriate clothes-hanging device like a treadmill, weight bench, or other apparatus that you wasted money on.

Then, it will dry properly and you can reuse it indefinitely.

Fuck man I just realized that I'm a dirty mother fucker cause I use the same towel everyday for a whole week.

Once I'm done showering I just drap dat son'bitch right over the shower rail where it sits in the steamy bathroom until the next day.

My girlfriend's like that too and she's a real freak in teh bedroom ..it's really kinda weird since she's always trying to instruct me what to do and she never hears what /I/ tell /her/ what to do ..It's a double standard with women.

I used to have the towels thrown in the hamper after each use, but now it depends. In the old bathroom set-up I started to just hang the towel on the curtain rod and re-use it maybe three or four times before washing it. Now, with the re-modeled bathroom, sans curtain rod, I'm back to getting a new towel each time again.

Get this. My husband insists that he and only he use certain towels. I wash and dry all the laundry, but he becomes irate if someone else uses a clean towels which has designated as one of "his" set. I think a clean towel is a clean towel and we can just share as long as each person gets a clean towel when they want one. But he must have only his and no one else must never use it. What'us up with this?

My husband would never change a bath towel if he did the laundry.
His belief is that once you step out of the shower, you are clean.
Therefore, the towel is always "clean." It just needs to dry

She is of course correct but germs are everywhere. She is a germphobe and should be released from your life. Soon she will scrub the finish off all chrome appliances and fixtures. She will never get better. We are host to billions of creatures inside and outside our bodies - universes of ecosystems.

The towel, for her, is a metaphor of a battle she will not and cannot win. You can participate with her or not.

*A “standard man” weighing 70 kilograms has roughly the same number of bacteria and human cells in his body, researchers report online January 6 at bioRxiv.org. This average guy would be composed of about 40 trillion bacteria and 30 trillion human cells, calculate researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. That’s a ratio of 1.3 bacteria to every one human cell.

3-4 times. Your body is--or should be--clean when using a towel. It needs washed because it hangs in a moist state in the bathroom and things can grow on it.

So you know how there's usually a little paper tag on one end of the towel? I use that end of the towel to dry off my (clean) dick, balls, and ass. This way, when I use the towel for 3-4 days, my OCD, crazy brain doesn't freak out that I have maybe a little...whatever on my face. Again, you're supposed to be clean, right? Doesn't your girl suck your dick? That bitch be crazy.
