Funny you would be taking pics of Kudzu, since you sir Spread like a creeping vine and smother this whole website in worthless chocking topics. Obliterating the webscape and choke out all the fun.

Kudzu is hardly beautiful. It is a highly invasive species in the Southeast and should be eradicated and/or controlled in most areas.

I beg to differ ! Kudzu is beautiful! You can also find some on 1-64 and towards Virginia Beach. Its a beautiful vine. But it does need a warm climate. You won't find it along the Jersey Turnpike.

Meade,

You can't argue with science. Kudzu is a non-native species to Virginia that eradicates native species as it spreads at such a rapid pace. As a native Virginian, you of all people should understand this.

Yes , I know. Kudzu comes from Japan. Its still a beautiful vine. Its not that bad. You can trim it when need be.

No, Meade, it is bad. It is a threat to native trees and other plant populations. You may like the way it looks, but ecologically, it is a severe harm.

Take a look at:

Kudzu grows faster than you can cut it.. Scientists are even trying to use it as a fuel(ethynol). They even tried to use goats to control the shit.. Some of the goats in the experiment died..

Its gets so bad in some places.. it can actually take down power lines in a couple months.

People have even tried to reformulate Agent Orange, )using Agent Blue or Agent Green ( defoliating herbicides.) ) to kill the Kudzu.

And for the less than educated ( Robert) Kudzu IS now in New Jersey. Thanks to warmer than average climates, and how well the seed/pollen spreads..

Some regular herbicides dont even work on the stuff anymore..

Not only does it cause a significant amount of ecological damage, kudzu also damages our economy every year to the tune of 500+ million dollars. It doesn't belong here in the first place, and scientists have considered it a "pest weed" for the past 50 years. But when you're an untutored simpleton like Meade Skelton, that is "lovely".

I must say that Robert quite likes the thick growth of Kudzu around my nether region. I sometimes allow him to trim it with a stout pair of hedging shears...

Is this a reference to the English immigrants or the Yankee ones?

It is edible! After the pole shift and climate changes, when there is no food, Kudzu will be your only hope for food!
